Hi, I have some questions about clans. What are really the requirements for joining? I’m pretty much a lone wolf but I see that there are several activities in the world that can only be done in a group. If I join one, what am I committing myself to?

Also, I have been using the least occupied servers because I’ve been getting a lot of requests to join. Once someone wanted me to join so that they could fix me. Apparently they thought shields were useless.

If it matters: I am 32 years old, my combat level is 94 currently, and 203 quest points. That really isn’t an accomplishment because I solved few of those myself. I end up looking at walkthroughs ... a lot.

Hi,

In general, clans are just groups of players who share common interests and goals. It really depends on the type of clan to get a better understanding of what they're all about, but even then, the atmosphere of every clan is unique. With thousands of active clans in this game, you're bound to run in to a wide variety of different groups and players if you decide to check them out.

Some of the basic factors that influence what a clan may be like include their clan type (PvM, PvP, Skilling, Social, Minigames, Questing, etc.), clan size, clan age, leadership, ranking structures, and (most importantly) the individual members who belong to that particular clan. Regarding what you're committing yourself to, that's really dependent on what the clan you belong to does. Some clans hold mandatory events and have strict requirements while others are laid back and don't enforce anything more than being an active RuneScape player.

Personally, I have been a member of my clan for just over 6 years with 3 of those years being spent as its clan leader. From my experience, I can say that I definitely would not have enjoyed my time on this game nearly as much if I had not joined this clan. It really opened me up to explore more of the game, and I made great friends here over the years.

If you're considering joining a clan, I'd highly recommend it. Just don't get discouraged if it takes a few tries to find a community that suits you because every clan is different.

If you'd rather not join a clan, that's fine too. Play the game the way you want to, but it's always nice to have people to chat with. :p

Hey there!

I think Sicariu has hit the nail on the head with his posts above.

Sometimes it does take a few clans till you find the one that's right for you, each clan has its own atmosphere and feel. I would recommend joining a clan, it's really fun doing some activities in a group like dungeoneering (if you would like to dung feel free to add me and message me ;) ). You don't have to join a clan you can also guest and just read people talk and talk with them that way.

^ This is the most important thing - It's your time and your money, spend it how you like and in a way that is fun for you!
