I miss those flaming days. I remember a TBC war that made it to a third thread because the first two were filled with 200 pages of arguments. Clan forum went from completely unmoderated in 2006/07 to one of the most moderated on the forum by 2009. I remember my post count taking a hit.
Fight Pits also reminded me of a time that I was in a game with 1800+ people, think it was a union war (anyone remember?). Although I hated fight pits at the time (due to RSB clans in particular preferring it to the wilderness) that was one of my favourite wars. Think I made it to the last 50 people too.
But yea, it is weird coming back to this thread and remembering what you've done. Almost forgot that I ran a completely off-RSB (off everything) clan in 2005. Even created a really awful website/forum for it too, thankfully that has long been hidden.
This is Slashoer. I just wanted to say that you have to have antagonists to make player-made communities fun. Looking back at it I was a huge element that drove the drama/entertainment here. Not saying I was the sole antagonist, but I was the biggest one. You just have to have a nemesis on a ggame involving clans to make it fun.
Part of what made the RSB so successful and fun was the leaders here and their relationships amongst each other. We had some personalities here for sure. Lot of big egos and arete. I know it was the rivalries for me that kept me engaged. It was always the conquest to be #1 on the ladder just so I could talk crap to the other RSBans and feed my ego. I really enjoyed that lol.
