Is there a way to see how long a player has been in a clan

Yes, this is possible. All members of a clan can view the join date for any member.

Open the Clan Settings tab at the bottom of your Clan Chat and hover over any clan member's name to see what date they joined the clan.

Here's mine as an example:

Sorry to revive an old post, but im just curious.
I have seem clan notifications when members have been in the clan for 3 or 6 months,
my other character recently hit 3 years in a clan but there was no notification.......or has the owners/leaders turned this option off ??

As far as notifications in my own chat boxes, as i said above i see other clan members notifications for 3 and 6 month service of being a clan member..
