I'm posting this on a different account as I play this more often so if I get an inbox I will hopefully see it.

Recently I logged into an old account that had leadership of a clan. I changed the name of the clan to something else while online. However, I tried to get the plural of the name that I picked and I wasn't able to. (I'm going to move this account into the clan if I can have what I want done!)

I searched the runescape clan page for the name to see if there was a clan that already existed with it and there was nothing even though it said the name was unavailable. The name I want for my clan is not rude in any way that I can think of. I was wondering if it is possible to give the name since it's not in use? If this is able to be done, I will happily reply to an inbox with more details.

Hi,

From your post, I'm assuming this is the sequence of the events that took place: you logged in on your old account, changed the name of the clan, and then attempted to change it again?

If that's correct, you can only change your clan's name once every 30 days. Once those 30 days are up, you're free to change it again to the desired name, as long as its available.

If you changed it to the current name because the name you wanted was unavailable, chances are that name is in fact taken by a clan with less than 5 members, so it would not appear on the hiscores despite still existing.

If I knew the name, I would look into it for you to give you a definite answer, but I assume you would prefer someone else not take it in the meantime if it is available, which is completely understandable. Should that name be taken, you could still search for that clan's Clan Page which will still exist if the name is taken.

To search for a Clan Page, go to the Community Tab > Clans > Search
- If you're logged in, the search bar is at the bottom of your Clan Page if you're in a clan
- If you're not logged in or not in a clan, it displays at the top of the page

I think this is what might have happened, because yes I could not see it on the clan hiscores. Thanks for your help.

Edit: After a random keyword search, the clan hiscores still show clans even though they have less than 5 members, so maybe it is actually not available to anyone?

Some clans are still listed on the hiscores below 5 members because the clan hiscores haven't updated since they dropped below the required amount. Once that updates, which seems to be at random intervals, those clans will be de-listed from the hiscores. ~ Sicariu
