Clan member getting harassed.

So I'm a co-owner of a clan and one of my members is getting harassed by a person(s). The harasser will use alt accounts to guest in our CC and insult one of my clan members. Anyone know of any solutions to stop this without closing our CC to guests completely?

Hi,

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do to make the harassment stop. Trolls typically feed off of reaction, so if they aren't acknowledged, they get bored and move on. However, as the disruption takes place in your clan chat, you can't ignore them 100% because it floods the chat with spam from the trolls.

All you can do is report the accounts under "Disruptive Behaviour" when they join to spam, and kick them without giving them a response. I'd suggest adding these names to your ban list, but with multiple accounts being created, this isn't really a feasible solution.

If the harassment persists excessively for more than a few days, I'd recommend you close your clan chat to guests for a few days, or at least turn off the ability for guests to speak. That may help. Trolls who can't speak will often get bored quicker and leave.

If this harassment has been going on for an extended period of time (months), then you could try sending an email to [email protected] with a few of the account names, your clan's name, and details about the issue for them to look into. ~ Sicariu

we've closed to guests for a a couple days before, when we open it up again it starts back up. it's gone on and off for a week or so now.

For now we'll keep it so that guests cant speak and keep track of account names who guest until I get a reply from email. Thanks for the info.

Sorry to hear about the trouble you've had. :(

I'm assuming this is a personal issue between an individual and your clan member, but if it's an issue with another clan trolling in your clan chat, then a better solution would be to post in the Flag a Concern thread in the Clan Leader forums, if you have access to that forum section.
