Very valid points above. I had written a long post in response but somehow I backed out of the page. So I'll try to summarize instead, since I am a little annoyed.

Basically, it is a good sign that PVM is becoming more and more team-based. With that occurring, there may be clans up to new challenges in team-based activities (ie: pking, clan warring). I also believe that most clans have no idea that organized clan warring exists (roughly now) or they believe that they could never compete. Clan warring isn't particularly easy but with enough practice, any player could become "decent" at it.

I feel there is a little hope for the clan warring scene to grow due to what I mentioned above, but I'll also explain why I think it won't.

Since around 2011, the RSB community stopped growing in numbers and began to decline. There were less new faces, less new clans and a lot of group clan hopping taking place. While that helped keep competition and frequency of wars up, it didn't help anything in the long run in terms of sustainability.

I feel like that it's due to several issues:

Lack of adaptation... we still attempt to use the RS forums for warring and what not when there could possibly be a discord or potentially more efficient way to conduct these communications / information sharing.

The work horses are gone... major faces in the RSB that knew a lot of people throughout RS and continually helped grow the RSB are gone, forever. There aren't many, if any, new people stepping up in order to try and expand the knowledge of clan warring to new people. (I can't blame them either... a very difficult feat)

Jagex's commitment to PVM updates... there have been a few PVP updates but as stated the majority of the playerbase plays for PVM. Without a way for newer people to explore PVP without losing items or getting completely destroyed, new players shy away. (A lot of PVP is pretty toxic, too but that's expected)

Overall decline in playerbase for PVP... self-expla
