Hello, I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of any benefits that go along with joining a clan. I have been playing a while now, and I really enjoy the game. Typically I play a few hours a night, sometimes more. The only issue is, I'm not on par with social activity whilst playing. (don't have friends that play.) So I've been thinking of joining a clan to socialize more, and I was interested in finding out if there are any other benefits. I hate to join a clan just to chat, as it seems a little complicated when I read threads related to clans. Any advice would help, Thanks!

Hi WVMountain,

Most benefits are subjective because it really depends on what type of clan you're looking for. Clans can also do most of the same things Friend Chats can do, but there's less dedication to joining a FC when compared to joining a Clan. Joining a Clan is more of a commitment because you can only be a member of one clan at any given time.

They can both provide people to socialize, skill, boss, etc. with. But, only Clans can provide Citadels and Avatars for bonus XP. Otherwise, they're mostly the same on a basic level.

Regardless, I would highly recommend finding a Clan to join, and don't worry if it takes you a few tries to find a good one that you feel suits you. There's a lot of clans in this game.

My suggestions for you:

Post a new thread in the forum section: Looking for a Clan
In that thread, include a bit of information about yourself as well as what you're looking for in a clan, and you'll get replies from clans who are seeking new members.

OR

Browse the following recruitment sections for a clan that interests you:

Recruitment – Under 100 Combat
» New to clans? Get started with our under 100 combat clans

Recruitment - Skilling Clans
» Clans that focus on Skilling or have a skilling level requirement

Recruitment - Social & Community Clans
» Clans that want to socialise and have no entry requirements

Recruitment – Specialist, Questing & Minigames
» Clans so specialist that they don't fit into any other forum! ~ Sicariu

Clans are my favorite part of this game, aside from bossing, and I can honestly say that I probably would not still be playing this game had it not been for the clan I joined 4 years ago.

Don't think that you need to be "social" to join a clan either. Some clans are close knit, smallish, keep mostly to themselves and only recruit when they find they are skilling alongside someone with similar interests. The added benefits there are usually people you can trust for advice.

Some people may be, but please don't think everyone in a clan is gung-ho to know your business. Take your time - you'll find one that suits your needs if you follow Sicariu's suggestions above.

I'm leader of clan called Social Chillers and my clan is basically like a family to me. We're close knit and help each other to the best we can also with Discord communication.
