Your clan's Clan XP is the total amount of XP gained by all clan members while in your clan. If a member leaves, the total Clan XP decreases by the amount of Clan XP that member had. However, this is not reflected upon immediately on your Clan Page on the RS website. This is a manual refresh (needed to be triggered by a Jmod) that takes place about 4 times per year. Until then, it appears as if your clan's XP is unchanged, but when the refresh takes place, your clan's XP will reflect the correct amount of Clan XP it really has.
Two RS fansites dedicated to helping clans (RuneClan and RuneLogs), will update Clan XP dynamically and will always display the correct amount of XP each clan has. This updates at regular intervals and requires a player to log out (or lobby) for their individual Clan XP to update.
If you want to check those fansites out, you can find them at RuneClan.com and RuneLo.gs

Yeah many clan leaders ask this, and is why I was asked to create a google sheet to show the differences.
Its called "
Clans 'Official' v 'Actual' clan XP
"
You may find it interesting, and is a good way to see whats really going on in the clan highscores too.
