No teleporting for 5 minutes?

So I was in the wild killing green dragons and I had a player do something that kept me from teleporting for 5 minutes. I was wondering if anyone might know how he did that?? I know theres an entangle spell that will hold somebody for 15 seconds, but I've never seen anything hold someone for 5 minutes..
