Leave the room, go back to where you found the decoder strips, walk through the red force field to the central area, leave through the other red force field on the opposite side, enter the door on the opposite side of the corridor, inspect the tin soldier on the operating table. Leave the castle the same way you came, talk to the guy close to the Eastern bank for the tin soldier head, then get three tin ores (kill zombies until you get some, or buy from the smith), one nature rune and some fire runes (kill zombies or buy from Aubury). Once you have all that, go back into the palace, wearing the zombie disguise, up the stairs, kill another 2 zombies there to refill your vials with red mist, then walk through the two red force fields to the tin soldier, click it a few times until it is repaired. Then go back to the balcony and from there into the room with the scrying pool, pick the option to control the tin soldier. Walk it to the desk in the room north of where it was, search the desk, memorize the code. Now go to the NW corner of the scrying pool room, add your decoder strips in the correct order (if the code was e.g. GEIH, put strip 1 on G, strip 2 on E, strip 3 on I and strip 4 on H), then use the up-arrow to enter the number shown in the gap on strip 1, click the right-arrow to enter it, then change the number to whatever strip 2 shows, click the right-arrow, etc. When the door opens, go in, smash the crystal, then leave the room, go downstairs, talk to arrav and the librarian, done.
For the final part, you need to get Arrav's heart. The wiki guide for this one is very good, so only for the fight with the demon, you might need some tips because you have no food or armour. The easiest option is spam defensives (anticipate, resonance, preparation, reflect, debilitate) whenever possible, use the special attack of darklight whenever that is off cooldown, if you have it also use sacrifice.
