Check they're both happy and healthy, as these stats will increase your breeding chances. If they're low, you can use special honeycombs and flavoured milk to increase them. Make sure your trough has food placed within it, and make sure you have space for them to breed (only place one male and one female in the breeding pen).

Animals only breed during their adult and elder growth stages, so make sure they're on either of these stages.

After that it's a waiting game I'm afraid, but bad luck mitigation will kick-in if the breeding fails enough times.

By default, animals outside the breeding pen don't breed. If you want them to then you must buy the ability to breed animals in other pens on a pen-by-pen basis from Granny and then wait longer.

Regarding the first post: I don't know what to suggest except what the second poster wrote.
