lost scrying orb

I don't remember when I started "enter the abyss" quest, however I'm having trouble completing it. at some point I must have lost the scrying orb and I can't seem to get a new one from talking to the Zamorak mage in Varrok. I have checked my bank and it's not in there either. not sure what to do in order to complete the mini quest.

If you are doing this on the account you are posting with, your RuneMetrics page shows that you have not started the "Enter the Abyss" miniquest, as you are not eligible to start it until you have done the required "Rune Mysteries" quest.
