If you were to purchase from a player an unchecked shiny breed for player-own farms and then decide to check it, will that count towards your animal breeding log?
If so, would the buy/sell forum thread be the best way of finding a seller? In W2 do I rarely see anyone selling shinys in POF there other than golden chinchompas.
If you're looking to get shinies then you want animals with the Sparkling, Glistening or Radiant Traits (and ideally more than one of those, because they stack). Unfortunately I don't know where you can go to find them.

How does 1 see if an unchecked animal is a shiny???
Cant you not only see that when checked, as two shiny animals dont giv shiny offspring at a rate of 100%. However if you buy checked ones from other players you can check
"How does 1 see if an unchecked animal is a shiny???"
Earlier in my post I was thinking that you had to
'check'
an animal in your inventory for it to count in a breeding log. Buying a checked shiny animal from another player wouldn't count for the log as the other player already
'checked'
it. Thanks to your question I realize my wording was wrong. There would be no way to guarantee a shiny breed if it was unchecked from another player. Therefore you both are right, this is achieved through RNG only. Thanks for clearing that up.
I do see some players sell already 'checked' shinies in the market. I'm thinking of doing the same in case I get duplicate shiny animals I don't need, however I do not know for what prices to sell them for. Is there some reference guide or an active discord out there get an idea of prices for shiny animals depending on its breed and traits combination?
