Does an overload/supreme overload/elder overload take your skill level above 120?

So for example, If your combat levels are at 111 then are elder overloads a waste ?

No, it doesn't take them over 120.

It's important to remember that combat stats stop at 99. Anything over that (say.... 111, for example) is just a virtual level that has no effect on your ability to fight. In that regard, any overload or stat-boosting potion will be beneficial, as it will act as a boost to your 99 stat, rather than a boost to the virtual stat. Therefore, the potion won't be wasted.

Ok Thanks, that makes sense. All my combat "virtual" levels are between 107 and 111 now so I wasn't sure on the overload effects. I wasn't taking into consideration that the boosts only go off the 99 level.

Yes, the virtual system certainly mixed things up! Elder overloads will boost your 99 stat up to 120. The 'lesser' overloads will also offer the boost but to a lesser extent. It will be interesting to see what happens if and when CB stats go to 120, but that's something for another day.
