Hey everyone,

I have been thinking of doing the Birthright of the Dwarves quest as my long term goal is getting the pickaxe of earth and song. I heard combat-wise in terms of quests, this boss is one of the tough ones. Here are my current combat stats; is this enough to tackle the boss or should I level up some stats still?

Cb: 116
Constitution: 81
Attack: 80
Strength: 90
Defense: 75
Range: 76
Pray: 92
Magic: 75

Thanks!

Ah yep, I did die once in the fight. If I recall correctly, my gear back then was Chaotic staff with Ganodermic equipment, overloads and a pack yak of food. My stats would have been somewhere around 85 although 99 magic.

Having looked at your stats, I think it could very well be a tough challenge, but it may just be worth a few tries and see how far you get. I would probably be using Melee here as it gives you access to Scrimshaw of Vampyrism and your melee stats do beat other classes.
As you have the ability to craft overload potions, I would be sure to bring a lot of saradomin brews due to their high healing effect and not destroying adrenaline as opposed to food.

This guide should provide more insight as needed:

Thanks for the video guide Corder! Finally finished the quest and got the pickaxe of earth and song today. I also died once due to one of the dwarf's special abilities and the second time I beat them both. I used up all my food and was left with 3000/8400 health by the time I won the boss battle. I didn't use a familiar to store extra food (it didn't allow me when I entered the caves for some reason). I ended up using magic as my combat style.

Also I tend to follow this visual fight style of where to run and fight:

Updated Combat stats:
Cb: 122
Constitution: 84
Attack: 81
Strength: 90
Defense: 80
Range: 78
Pray: 96
Magic: 89

Gear:
- Full set of robes of subjugation (Ganodermic is better though due to higher defense stats)
- 99 cape
- luck of the dwarves
- Augmented wand of the cywir elders (Requires 85 magic. Has faster speed and accuracy than the chaotic staff.)
- blood amulet of fury (for extra damage and healing ability. This one's expensive so maybe dragonrider amulet could be alternative if using magic combat)

Inventory
-overload
-prayer potion
- blood and earth rune for ancient magic
- rest of inventory was rocktail

EOC set up order from left to right:
- Used ancient magic - shadow barrage (1st 2 tabs)
- wild magic
- dragon breath
- sonic wave
- aphyxiate
- sunshine
- detonate
- surge
- freedom
- rejuvenate

There's probably a better setup than this, but it got me to complete the quest so good enough
