What happened to the crystal chest? Why can I no longer open it without using the key from my inventory or examine it?

Please be more specific; your post is a little vague.

Usually, when I get a crystal key, I just go to the chest in Priffdinnas or Taverley and it opens simply by left-clicking on it... Regards,
