Welcome to the Republic of Varrock!

The Republic of Varrock is a fun, community minded Social Clan geared toward helping its members enjoy the game of Runescape more fully. Our members are a diverse group of people with a variety of playing styles. From hardcore skillers to combat mongers, to quest and story lovers, and to role players and the politically minded, RoV is a place where everyone can hang out and help others.

The Republic of Varrock was originally founded as a Player Owned City forums clan on December 29th, 2007. The clan operated as a successful and prominent POC on World 98 until it disbanded on December 3rd, 2017. On April 12th, 2020, The Republic of Varrock was re-founded as a Social-POC. Our goal is to create a laid back, social environment to help you make the most of your time on RuneScape; but, we want to do that by packaging it in a creative way that offers role play opportunities to those who want them.

We accept players of any skill level. Regardless of combat level, total level, role play ability, or past clan experience, RoV will take anyone who is friendly and likes events. The only thing we ask is that you are a pay-to-play member and that you make a commitment to being active in the clan.

Our most prized quality is our member community. RoV prides itself on having a community that is supportive, cheerful, loyal, and respectful. So come join us in the Republic of Varrock: a clan community that has much to offer and is always looking for new members to call friends!

The High Council

§ï†ï

The Republic of Varrock is led by a 5 member council. The members of the High Council work together to create the rules and structure of the clan, to manage clan member ranks and promotions, and to run the day to day operations of a Social-POC.
High Councilors are elected by the clan members to life terms. When a Councilor wishes to step down, or has been inactive for over 6 months, the High Council is authorized to hold an election to fill the vacancy.

New and current clan members should bring any questions or concerns they have to any of the 5 High Councilors. An individual Councilor is authorized to answer any questions or address any issues brought to them. If the Councilor requires help or time to make a decision, they are authorized to call a meeting of the High Council, where an answer or course of action will be voted on.

Chat Administrators

§ï†ï

The High Council may, upon their discretion, nominate and appoint active, responsible clan members to become Chat Administrators. Chat Administrators can be recognized in the clan chat by their rank of Admin (Bronze Cross).

Chat Administrators are tasked with monitoring the clan chat. They are authorized to answer questions and concerns brought to them by a player, as well as take disciplinary action against disruptive clan members and guests. Chat Admins may: issue verbal warnings, temporarily mute players, and temporarily kick players. Any disciplinary action taken against a clan member or a guest must be reported to the High Council with sufficient justification.

Finally, Chat Admins are authorized to accept forum applications, to send in-game invites to players who wish to join the clan, and to lead clan events when no member of the High Council is able to attend.

Advancement in the Republic and Member Expectations

The Republic of Varrock has a time based ranking system. The longer a clan member remains part of the clan, the higher a rank they receive in the clan chat.

We think a time based system rewards players who are loyal to the clan, while simultaneously recognizing that most of our members are looking for a casual gaming experience.

To be considered active, members are expected to:
• Engage in clan chat discussions
• Read and participate on the forums/discord
• Help organize and attend group events/role play opportunities
• Follow all Jagex rules and regulations while engaing in clan content

We do not have a need to measure activity, since he hope all of our members are actively engaging with the clan. We believe there is not a point in being in a clan if a member is not doing these things; therefore, we have chosen to only measure and reward members for their length of service.

If you are interested in joining the Republic of Varrock, there are two ways you can apply.

2. Ask to talk to an officer or Councilor about applying
3. The officer or Councilor will ask you a series of questions, and determine if you should be allowed to join
4. If it is decided you should be allowed to join, you will receive a clan chat invite
