Hello, and welcome to the “Altar” friend’s chat/clan chat recruitment page! We are a multi-functioning clan with a main focus on gilded altars. However, while the friend’s chat serves as a service opportunity, the clan chat exists as an ever-growing community clan. Anyone is welcome to join our clan, regardless of level/age/game knowledge. This page is for those who wish to see what “Altar” has to offer, as well as those who would wish to offer some suggestions for open altars.

These rules were created to maintain order within both chats, and provide the safest experience for everyone using these services. Failure to follow them will result in expulsion: an hour in the FC, and a temporary kick from the CC. Excessive kicking will result in a permanent ban in both. Please follow these rules and enjoy everything “Altar” has to offer!
-Credit to "The Porto" for making this.
-No excessive swearing or fowl/offensive language; keep the chat clean with appropriate conversations. We frown upon such subjects that may ignite arguments, such as religion, politics, or moral standpoints.
-Only advertise your or someone else’s house if someone asks for a house/altar in the friends chat. However, you may announce when you open, but ONLY ONCE.
-Bone runners/advertisers may announce their services once every 3 minutes, or if someone asks for a bonerunner.
-Do not advertise other people who are not in the friend’s chat.
[Ask the host to join the friend’s chat if they are not in already.]
-Please refrain from asking for/mentioning donations in the friend’s chat.
-Keep gambling out of the friend’s chat!
-When saying someone is open in the friend’s chat, keep your message appropriate and not in favor over other hosts.
*Example of what is good. ["The Porto" is open ] / ["The Porto" is open with glory, obelisk and Yanille center teleport.]
~Example of what not to do ["The Porto" is best altar/house] / ["The Porto" is fastest lighter] / ["The Porto" is better than "Aegis Noir"] {Basically do not make one house look better than another}.
-Advertising any website is prohibited.
-Be respectful to EVERYONE!
- Please refrain from talking about gambling of ANY sort (Please use the report feature when dealing with scammers).
- The chat is English only! Please do not type in another language as it confuses players and is considered spamming.

- Please don't advertise other clan chats/friends chats, directing a player to another service chat is fine. (Example: Dung smith, R quark, 2flingfish, 1elitesc) - NO GAMBLING/GIVEAWAY CHATS
- You may not use our services unless you are in world 31.

- Host your gilded altar in w31 Yanille; make sure your in “Altar” friends chat!
- Advertise At w31 Yanille House Portal. A good advertisement example is:
“Need a g altar? Join “Altar” friends chat”, but please don’t excessively spam it!
- Moderate the Friend’s chat; Although you may not have a rank, it is helpful to answer questions people may have about altars or Prayer in general. If a problem is happening, feel free to pm a rank and notify them!
- Run bones; you can run regardless of rank.
- Recruit new members, through telling hosts, or telling those inside your house!
- Follow all the rules!

-Have a gilded altar with two burners! This is imperative, because gilded altars with lit burners provide the most experience. It is 252 for dragon bones, and 630 for frost bones. The requirement for a gilded altar is level 75 Construction, but can be made at level 67 with a crystal saw and spicey stew, or at level 69 with a crystal saw and POH tea.
-Keep the burners lit AT ALL TIMES!
-Have easy access to a glory, possibly the room to the immediate left of the Altar room.
-Have an obelisk, by building a menagerie (level 37).
-Have a butler in your house, with noted marrentill in your inventory. Use the noted marrentill on your butler and command him/her to unnote them. This is the best method for lighting, since you do not have to run to the bank.
-Have a portal room, preferably north of your glory, or near the entrance portal. Complete the Ardougne tasks, as well as the Watchtower quest, so you can place a portal that teleports guests to the middle of Yanille, close to the bank.
-Invite your guests to “Altar” FC so they can find other houses in the future!
-Never, EVER, ask/beg for donations.
-Mention any door trolls to the friend’s chat so other hosts may block them.

-Have the best possible bones that you can afford. We don’t suggest blowing all your money on frosts to make it go by the fastest. Use dragon bones and enjoy the company in “Altar” FC while you level!
-Use a Beast of Burden familiar, such as a Tortoise or a Pack Yak.
-We suggest having 50 Construction (to have a house in Yanille) and Teleport to House tablets.
1. Have your bag/familiar full of bones.
2. Make sure your settings are at: Teleport outside of House.
3. Break your Teleport to House tablet.
4. Type in the desired host’s name.
5. Use your bones, then teleport to the bank using the glory/dueling ring/or a Tokkul-zo (recommended).
6. REPEAT!
-If you do not have 50 Construction, Run to portal/use the Yanille loadstone, and use the Yanille portal for quicker access to the bank.
-A bone runner can be a great way to quickly gain experience, but it can be a little costly (15k-20k an inventory).

Bone Running
-Advertise your service in the friend’s chat once every 3 minutes, or unless someone asks.
-Trade 27 bones FIRST to the payer. This assures you are not a scammer.
-For the fastest method, you must have 50 Construction.
1. Use Teleport to House tablets.
2. Go into the house your payer is leveling in.
3. Trade him/wait for him to finish.
4. Use a Tokkul-zo/dueling ring to Castle Wars.
5. REPEAT!
Advertising
-Do not spam the Yanille portal EXCESSIVELY.
-Hand typed messaged are preferred, but if you can't then hire an advertiser.
-Mention “Altar” FC occasionally while you’re advertising.
-Typically, advertisers provide their service first, and then collect their payment from the host.
-When advertising for the first time for a host, perhaps set up a deal where half is paid up front and half later. When you continuously advertise for them, accept payments after your service time.
Burner Lighting
-Bring your own inventory of marrentills to start.
-PAY ATTENTION TO THE BURNER!
-Mention “Altar” FC periodically to the host’s guests.
-Never, EVER, beg for donations.
-Be nice to everyone within the house.

Ranks are given out according to dedication and service within the friend’s chat. Ranks cannot be bought or sold. *Sucking up” for ranks is not tolerated, and may even hurt your chances for ranks. Asking for ranks also seriously decreases your likeliness for one. They will be granted if others see continuous work within the friend’s chat.
These tips are for ranking up within the FRIEND’S CHAT. Once you join the Clan chat, you will see a guide to ranking up in there.
EDIT: AS OF 2013 YOU MUST BE IN THE CLAN CHAT TO RANK UP IN THE FRIENDS CHAT!!! Sorry for any troubles.
1. The best way to gain a rank within the Friend’s chat is to be part of “Altar” clan chat.
2. Host your altar often!
3. Advertise the “Altar” FC. We want to spread the service of “Altar” to the entire RuneScape community, and want ranks who are enthusiastic as we are.
4. Be respectful to all members and ranks. Getting kicked diminishes your chance of getting a rank.
5. Give us a friendly bump on this thread!
6. Follow all the rules within the friend’s chat.

Chances are if you enjoy something on this game or even other games, we do it! We have a general gaming community that is not just limited to Runescape. We have clans in Oldschool RS and Clash of Clans and we play most current popular games and new releases! Our whole gaming community revolves around our Teamspeak which can be joined by asking a rank for the info or checking out our clan forums once you've joined the clan!

The "Altar" clan is also not limited to prayer training... We are a community clan and have participated in clan cups (Grand finalists one year) and have weekly meetings and events/contests. Are you a casual player? Perfect! In the Altar community we can help you use your time playing Runescape effectively! Are you a veteran player? Awesome! There are many players in the Altar community that have been playing since the beginning. Any high level content you want to experience I'm sure you will find a member who will join you!

The Altar community is not just limited to Runescape which is a huge benefit. When you join our teamspeak you will interact with people from many different games and from all over the world!
