Originally founded under the name The Diplomats in 2009, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has existed throughout the course of Varrockian history under different names and leaders. In December 2017, Pikalicious, a former twice-leader of the diplomats in 2010 and 2011, was promoted to the newly-founded position of Lord Ambassador - created through the merger of the already existing Lord of Recruitment title and the revived Minister of Foreign Affairs position which had been vacant for months prior.

Under the new name The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Recruitment (MOFAR), the division of diplomats are now not just a department of foreign affairs - but also the primary force responsible for recruiting new members into the kingdom.

The Lord Ambassador is the leader of MOFAR, and also a member of the lords and ladies in the kingdom.

The second-in-command of MOFAR, Legatum Ad Secundarium is the leader of MOFAR in the absence of the Lord Ambassador, and their first apparent successor.

\±‡±•¤•¤•¤•¤•¤•¤ The Diplomats ¤•¤•¤•¤•¤•¤•±‡±/

The diplomats are each assigned to an allied clan. They are responsible for hosting at least one allied event per month with their assigned clan, and are required to file a report on the general situation of their assigned clan once a week using the report template. The diplomats are also expected to stay active as guests in their assigned clans’ chats and engage in friendly conversation if necessary - don’t just be a creeper.

\±‡±•¤•¤•¤•¤•¤•¤ The Adjutors ¤•¤•¤•¤•¤•¤•±‡±/

The adjutors are secondary diplomats that aide their senior diplomats in keeping the allied events and reports running. They are assigned to a clan each much like the diplomats, and are allowed to host events and file reports in lieu of them with their permission. They become the diplomat responsible for keeping the duties performed in the absence of their senior, and are the direct successors of their respective senior. Adjutors are also expected to participate as guests in their respective assigned clans’ chats alongside their senior diplomats.

The recruiters are responsible for hosting at least one recruitment drive event every other week, and are REQUIRED to attend when a recruitment drive event is hosted by the Lord Ambassador or a Royal - only if they are online. Recruiters are expected to have basic Gielinorian communication skills in order to attract people to the kingdom during recruitment events - like knowing how to use chat flares such as wave and flash and being able to type relatively fast to keep the advertising flowing fluently. As a recruiter, you are responsible for giving a great first impression to the new members we recruit, thus basic manners and good behaviour is a must.

Other than hosting in-game recruitment events, recruiters are also expected to participate in public forum recruiting. Public forum recruiting consists more than just posting a copy-paste advertisement on the “Looking For A Clan” section of RuneScape Forums, but also following up in-game with the person looking for a clan. There are hundreds of copy-paste advertisement posts that get slapped on these threads that almost entirely go unread, therefore actually following up in-game is essential if you really want to successfully recruit people from the forums.

As a recruiter, it is also your responsibility to keep track of whom you recruit. Make sure that you write down the names of the individuals that you have recruited after you host a recruitment event. If you recruit someone outside an event, make sure you mention that on this forum thread as well - as it is essential for us to keep track of who joins the clan and who leaves.

Diplomats or their Adjutors are expected to file the report below at least once every other week to keep track of how our allies are doing, and if there is anything we can do to help if they are facing any predicaments. Make sure to leave an “allied bump” on their public threads after checking them, in order to let them know that we are around and are still actively allies.

Diplomats or their Adjutors are required to host at least one allied event per month with their respective allied clans. This can be anything from a simple citadel greet and meet to a bossing event or a minigame. Use the template below to file a report pertaining to the event that you have hosted.

Recruiters should also use this template to report the recruitment events they host.

The recruiters are required to host a recruitment drive event at least twice a month. Recruitment drive events can consist of many different activities (use your imagination!), but the most common and efficient way of doing one is simply standing by the World 2 Varrock lodestone with a vexillum out in display while consistently typing advertisement phrases. A few good aspects of KOV to emphasize while we are advertising is that we are an all-around clan, we have a tier-7 citadel (WITH A FREAKING DRAGON) with many skilling plots, and that we accept EVERYONE - no matter what level - into our clan. World 2 Varrock lodestone often gets a lot of new and returning players that are unfamiliar with the latest version of the game, so it is also nice to let those individuals know that we are a very helpful and friendly clan towards newcomers as we have a lot of experienced individuals in our ranks - some of which have been playing this game consistently for over ten years.

It is also fairly important to let the new recruits know that they will stay at a one-stripe rank in the clan chat until they officially apply as a citizen on our public forum; after which they will be promoted to two stripes and given the chance to move further up in the ranks afterwards. Letting them know about the existence of our Discord channel is pretty essential as well, since that’s where we perform a lot of our general conversational activities such as decision-making and event reporting.

Recruiters are given the authority to recruit people into the clan using the “invite” button (it’s the plus shaped one) from the in-game clan chat interface. Make sure you introduce people to our clan before you just randomly invite them - just so we know what they are expecting from us and that they actually want to join our kingdom. Don’t forget to be friendly and use appropriate English to the best of your extent in order to leave a great first

+ Should you fail to host your biweekly event, either as a diplomat or a recruiter, you receive TWO strikes under your name. Please note that if you are an adjutor, and your senior diplomat officially gave the responsibility of hosting an event in his/her name for those two weeks, one strike will be given both to you and your senior diplomat in the case of an event not being hosted rather than two strikes being given to the senior diplomat.

+ Should you fail to post your weekly report as a diplomat, you will receive one strike under your name.

+ At three strikes, you will be put under the suspension list, which acts as a final warning. Four strikes (or more) and you will be put under the termination list, which implies that you will be kicked from the sub-clan - unless you have an appropriate excuse to why you couldn't fulfil your duties. If there is any reason why you cannot host an event or file a report, please make sure to let the Lord Ambassador know beforehand in order to avoid receiving a strike.
