I recently returned. I think its cute how hopeful people still are to see their clan updates come to life. However, I am coming to the forum to discuss player online statuses. I like the idea of being able to recruit someone without having to click on them, but with how player online statuses are set to "friends only" by default is incredibly frustrating when most players I come across don't even know how to change it, or that it is set to this setting anyway. Clans and friendships are the last strings keeping this game alive in my opinion. I sent an email to all registered users on my ancient clan enjin site and a lot of people came back to the game just because I asked them to. It shouldn't be an obstacle to be able to DM someone that you met that is chill, or to invite someone to your clan while having to describe how to change online statuses.

Hi Salcos,

Welcome back to RS! :) It looks like you have troubles with inviting. To send an invite u need to be on the same world and indeed they need to have their private on on or have added you. In case they are on the same world I usually ask to add me so i can send the invite.

The old invite option are also still in-game by rightclicking the invite button and use it on the player u want to invite. (also works with using clan vex on player).

I expect it's a security thing. I have mine set to friends only to stop idiots pm'in me pretending to be jmods. So I expect jagex decided to change the setting to protect the noobs.

This is more of an interface issue.

As of this day the interface in this game remains finicky and over complex as a new player it must be a real turn off to spend your first hours of the game trying to work it out. too many options too many unnecessary functions.
