Hey there,

While lots of content is outdated (and still occasionally being replaced), of the more prevalent pieces is clans. Anyone who leads a clan would probably know the focus of what a clan is and can do has shifted overtime and much of the clan related content is just no longer necessary or beneficial. Neither is there a big incentive to join clans, with probably the biggest reason being that they are somewhere to socialise or chat with while members progress on their own individual adventures. I propose that clans should receive a much-needed update to make them more attractive and enable those clans that enjoy community to do things together without giving into the idea of modern concepts such as xp waste. As someone who has played the game for 12 years it is sad to see what clans have become, and I know many with similar amounts of experience who feel the same way.

One of the major issues is the lack of reasons now to cap or even visit a citadel except perhaps to quickly collect that avatar bonus. Most if not all citadel plots and their corresponding skills have methods which contain better xp rates, there is no reason to use these plots. Given capping is no more than a weekly event perhaps these could be brought up to match the xp of some of these other methods - making them really attractive. Perhaps new plots for different skills can be added in between the citadel tiers, or new citadel tiers can be added (a new challenge for those with tier 7 citadels to reach, for example tier 9 or 10).

The clan battlefield is hardly useful at all. Our clan currently uses this space for ice puzzles for example, which hardly if ever get used. This could be turned into some sort of event (maybe even against other clans in a way that's fair to all), that gives clan-only rewards (giving players reason to join) from cosmetics crafted from the clan to new emotes, or even an item with the ability to improve the avatar by a significant amount for a period of time. Some similar idea can probably be thought of for the clan theatre.

Clan events (e.g. group skilling, bossing ) could be made more attractive with a small enough xp boost or damage increase so that people don’t feel forced but that really encourages community within clans.

Tools could be added to support clan like minigames such as hide and seek (imagine if a clan could set borders for its members participating, and even dynamically change them - shifting them overtime). Players would be free to join and leave under events with usage of those tools anytime they like.

Extending this idea, the clan noticeboard could be improved. This isn’t very accessible or even easy to find (and id argue the UI for it could now be done better too). This noticeboard could be integrated with the tools I mentioned above. The noticeboard could optionally appear for a user when they login enabling them to subscribe their intent to join an event, or offer proposals of change.

These are just a few ideas, that could very well be modified and I’m sure there are many more that could similarly be added. In adding these I’ve tried to create ones that are beneficial to the game community but also fairly easy for Jagex to implement. I feel clans require a much needed update, and features such as these would go a long way to reviving them to their past glory and somewhere more than just a place to chat. Thanks for reading!

I honestly agree with you, Clans get zero updates and us as leaders no voice at all.

You only have to look at this board and discord.

We have made list upon list of requests and all have fallen on deaf ears.

Do we have a J Mod allocated to support us anymore?

I see a small niche group of leaders that seem to be in the "Know" but I am unsure how information is shared? Maybe someone could shed some light on this?

One thing I do know is we should all stand as a collective afterall we must represent a lot of paying members.

Is there anyway we could have a meeting with someone who could give us enough time and respect to listen and answer some questions?

I personally would find it helpful to have a meeting with other leaders and seniors to agree on the next course of action.

Yes Agree.

We had this discussion last year at Xmas. That's usually when we discuss the year ahead in clans and the main subject was how clans have changed and fc's and discord fulfil the more traditional roles of being in a clan. It is a very interesting subject and one that needs addressing.

Only problem is we have not had a jmod rep in the clf since mod Peorkie left.
until we get a replacement I'm afraid we are stuffed.

Maybe we should start a campaign in here of lobbying and harassing them on twitter/reddit until they actually assign someone to us?

Also we do need to recruit more clan leaders into this forum. I am sure there are lots that are un aware of us in here but alas this is also a futile gesture unless we get our own jmod.

they only read twitter and reddit.

Every now and again Mod Pi asks the community for idea on twitter. He did so at xmas asking what 'Small' upgrades would we want to see in 2022. I begged for a jmod in the clf. I know he reads these threads because the recent ninja fix a few months ago he asked 'what items are missing tool tips'? and all the items in the latest ninja strike were replies in that thread.

One person asking might not cut the mustard.

but...

if all of us follow jmods on twitter...

we could just repeatedly ask all of them until one give in or maybe tells us to **** off?

what do we have to lose!?

Sadly mod timbo rarely uses his twitter he would be perfect coz he actually cares about the clf.

But I suggest...

All of them.

and all of us.

really make a noise. One person they can ignore but...
how many of us are there anyway in the clf these days?
we really need to make a racket.
no jmod ever comes in here hence the count to 50 before a jmod has got so high

So yeah the main @runescape and any other jmods we can find till someone listens could even try the @jagexsupport but they're about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

maybe we could come up with a 280 character open letter we could all post together so they know it's a group effort?

well asked Lilly.
I have noticed only two of us are taking part in this convo.
would be great to get a role call of who is active in the clf these days as well as who would like to do something to get a jmod in here and if so what.
not saying my idea is best
it's just all I can think of right now
