Hello! I was wondering if it is possible for Jagex to switch the current (idle) owner with myself. I have been running the clan without him for almost 2 years now, and I still talk to him quite a bit, but he isn't interested in playing runescape right now. The clan wants me to have ownership, and so does the current owner, but I don't want him to have to leave the clan to pass the torch to me. I want him to still be in the clan, and to not lose his xp, but to step down to deputy owner and promote my account to leader.

I 100% believe that there should be an in-game option for this on the owner's end of things, but without such an option, can jagex make the switch for us?

Jagex won't do this.

Have your leader demote everyone else from co-owner rank with you the only remaining co-owner. The owner will then need to set his rank to co-owner or below and it should then automatically give you the clan leader title. No need for the current leader to leave the clan.

There is a way in game that the owner can switch ownership to you without leaving the clan , exactly as you want to .

First off, it will be easier if you are the only deputy at the time -so if you have more they should be temporarily demoted - this is purely to ensure that you will become the owner when he steps down. Then he demotes himself from owner to ( say admin) , et viola, you as the only deputy become owner.

Once you have e owner ship you can out everyone's rank back where it needs to be. No clan leaving, no lost xp , easy

They can demote themselves as long as there is a deputy. I have done it once.

OP has successfully changed leadership of the clan, no need for any more advice.

Yeah, the requirements are really nice and really help the clans that have the owner quit on rs for a long time. They are:

Owner has not logged in for 12 months.
A deputy owner is active in last 7 days.
A deputy owner must ask for the change. Quest lover. Former Deputy Owner of Fealty Stars.
