Hello!

This thread pertains to the OSRS Clan update announcement found here .

My community Clan Quest, exists both in OSRS and in RS3. We are curious if communities will be able to reserve names before the update to avoid trolls poaching established community's names?

It was mentioned on stream that they're looking into ways for established communities to reserve their name shortly before the release.

So hopefully they can do that...the timeframe would most likely be within a week or two of the final release if they do that option. Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

This is very concerning to me.
I'd rant, but I won't.

I remember back in 2006, a Castle Wars clan picked the name The Latin Empire.
And shortly after the 2012 Clan Update, another clan picked the name Imperio Latino.
These are variations of the name of my clan which is also known as Latin Empire.

They should really let us reserve several clan names in advance and have them redirect to the main one. I mean I'd pay for them like I pay for domain names. But then, we might run into a RWT situation if Jagex sold OSRS clan names.

While we're at it, I also believe that they should add clan initials into the OSRS clan system. It's clear my clan is the only one with the initials IL. And since clan initials can only be 2-3 characters, other clans who might want to use the IL initials should pick something else.

It upset me when we lost our warcc friends chat because Jagex thought it'd be a good idea to release account display names of active accounts being used only as a chat.

And knowing Jagex, they're probably not going to let us reserve the names for OSRS clans.
