So, for many years - perhaps we've all be approaching this clan versus clan thing all wrong?
After some discussion about it, as it came up somehow...
We couldn't have raids before, because - "spaghetti code, lack of time, space, etc"...
Because the Clan Citadels can't handle that sort of activity, basically...
I got to thinking about this, and most everyone seemed pleased with it:
Create a "3rd Clan", comprised entirely of NPCs.
Use the "Main Surface World" to create instances, just like "Soul Wars" does.
Pit 2 Human Clans against this 3rd NPC Clan.
Create and use objects with their default levels similar to "Stealing Creation", so as having better "world gear" or levels doesn't affect gameplay - only tact and strategy using your actions.
Award points for "kills, pickpocketing/looting, and destruction of their Tier 7 NPC Citadel".
The clan with the most destruction caused, wins the "mini-game" bout, and moves up the game global ranks.
Clans of ANY size may take on any other clan, but their approved ranked clan members (Clan Admin or above) must accept a "clan challenge" offer, much like the "Clan Wars" or "duel" invitation.
This could possibly replace "Clan Cup".
Using this system, no clan could manipulate the game or stack odds in their favor.
So, in essence, it is Clan versus Clan, but you're TEAMED with the other clan, in order to take down the NPC clan, yet at the same time, you are in competition to cause the most chaos. No real players "lose" or feel duped or depressed, and everyone's having fun and nobody's real citadels are harmed/affected in any manner, yet some in-game merit/street cred is awarded and gained among the community at large.
Any additional ideas on how to refine this one are welcome.
