Apologies if the title is misleading.

I'm making reference to the citadel plot locks. We run our citadel plots on a 'Lock at upkeep'
schedule. It's always worked fine but needs manual tweaking of the smithing plot several times during the week.

Our current figures are
1875 metal bars
970 precious bars

For this we need to collect same values in respective ores plus 2845 charcoal.

As the system is atm, I can set the ores and coal to lock at these values. Then someone comes along and does 'part' of the total.

Example:
Player A mines 900 precious ores and collects 900 charcoal on an avatar. Then proceeds to make 900 bars. Great so far.

Player B enters and heads to the mining plot and mines precious ores. We only need another 70 to make upkeep but the first 900 were used, meaning we can now mine 1870 before we lock the plot on a 970 lock.

Is it possible to set the figures on the coal and ores to decrease by the amount of bars made?

I don't mean am I missing something, because I know it's not there.

I mean can there be a change implemented to the way the figures decrease with usage?

I haven't seen this brought up in awhile. Scaling plot locks was a popular suggestion a few years ago.

Here's a quote from the Jmod Feedback thread that you might be interested in:

Change plot locks for ores and charcoal so the lock decreases when bars are made. The aim being to reduce ores and charcoal wasted.

Having talked with Moltare, it looks like we could do something like the following:

- Remove the ability to set targets on the ore and charcoal plots. Instead, when a target is set on a bars plot (either, or, both), calculate what target is needed for the ore/charcoal plots, based on how many bars are needed.
- As you make bars, the targets for ore and charcoal reduce appropriately.
- Auto plot locking on target will be default for the charcoal/ore plots.
- This will not affect manual plot locking, so if you wanted to lock the charcoal/ore plots, you can.

However this will need to be added to the long list of updates. If people like it.

Hey, jon bon jovi

What i do is at my citadel is same thing, except we go for upkeep as usual but i lock either metal or prescious ores and keep stone open, and i have both avatars on full charcoal which is 2350 + i do full charcoal so another 2k there added, and this seems to be working out good for me, however i do have to check on smithing plot for upkeep and hope not to piss players off that a plot is locked as sometimes they go up and its locked so i generally keep most everything set to lock up except for charcoal.

So ya, thats what i been doing for last year and a few months. slowly making our way to t7.

Support, I try to bring this issue up when there's polls or the ninjas ask for suggestions. I don't know how easy of a fix it is but it's pretty annoying.

I just set the -amount needed for upkeep on both bars. Then I subtract the surplus from the total needed, and use that as my "lock" amount for ores. Then I add both ore requirements to set the charcoal maximum each week.

... Sort of wish locks could be automated to "stay" every week, so I didn't need to set them weekly. They'd just stay that way every week. The only ones I'd then have to adjust would be the bar and ore amounts.

But I do love the notion suggested too. Anything to make things streamline.
