Looking for some help please.

Some weeks we get enough visitors in the citadel to go up a tier, however sometimes we don't.

So seeking out advice from fellow Clan Leaders on how the downgrade & upgrade function works in with tier upgrades in case we don't get the visitor count.

We would like to use this option, we are still actively recruiting however would like to start on Tier 5 upgrade if we can. Nor do all new clannies necessarily like to visit the citadel.

What do you want to know specifically?

If you don't meet the upgrade visitor count then any resources you have collected towards the new tier upgrade won't apply to it on the next build tick.

If you decide to downgrade the tier then on the next build tick it will drop down to whatever you set it to, you can go from t7 to t1 if you wish. Your upkeep costs will also change to the previous tier also whilst it's set to downgrade.

If you don't reach 5 visitors your citadel will go into a dilapidated state, it looks grimy and you get reduced xp from plots & bonus xp reward. If you then fail to get 5 visitors on the next build tick your citadel will automatically downgrade to a previous tier.

We don't always meet the 25 visitors for tier 5.
We are not sure what will happen if we don't and have it scheduled to upgrade.

Someone said in CLD you can downgrade it, have never downgraded anything so don't know how this works.

Or is it just as easy to change the priority so the upgrade sits below customizations if that happens?

To get my clan mates to get count i bribe them. Well not really, I go by a point system to rank up in my clan and just for a quick in and out to get count helps with a rank up. The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.

We use capping and clan xp for ranks :)

We also have clannies that have commitments and that don't play every week.

Really only want to know how it works so we can use it if needed, we are hoping it doesn't.

Several of us are also recruiting.

Downgrading is really only used by clans that are having difficulty meeting the upkeep costs of their citadel to prevent dilapidation, which has its downsides. With the visitor requirement at a mere 5 across all tiers and the upkeep costs recently reduced by 80%, there is little reason to downgrade anymore.

Nothing serious will happen if you have an upgrade scheduled for T5 as long as you get at least 5 visitors and upkeep costs. You don't even need to change the priority of upgrades/customizations.

I know this because it's how we handled our upgrade to T4. We varied between 15 and 20 visitors each week.

Keep the T5 upgrade at the top of your list. If you don't meet the visitor count for upgrading the Citadel, any extra resources collected will automatically be applied to the next customization down the list. If all customizations are complete, any extra resources will spoil, within the parameters of spoilage for the storehouse.

Citadel Resource Storage
When the build tick occurs, most resources that are excess will spoil and be lost. The amount that is carried forward is the excess multiplied by the percentage of that citadel (20% for T4), up to the maximum capacity of that tier of storehouse.

Thank you for clarifying :)

Exactly what we wanted to know.

We have since discovered that the way wiki reads on visitor count that it was confusing, we only need 20 members and have set upgrade for Tier 5 in action.

Plus with the reduction in visitor count coming with ava rework we could even possibly have enough for Tier 6.

We aren't fussed about Tier 7, it was more the skill plots we are interested in for our clannies to cap on ,Tier 5 was key as it opened two more skills.

An interesting thought, regarding downgrading in citadels. Player resource cap is based on the tier of the Storehouse, not the Citadel.

With upkeep being reduced so drastically, and some people still not wanting to cap (especially if the resources are just going to spoil), some clans may want to consider downgrading their storehouses.

I'm not suggesting this across the board for everyone, but it may be an attractive option for certain clans. The main point being, people not having to spend time on 2700 resources if the citadel really doesn't need it.

Instead of requiring clan members to bring in up to 2700, that amount could be reduced to as low as 1000 with a T1 storehouse (depending citadel tier).

Gather rate is based on skill plot. Cap limit is based on Storehouse.
Coupled together, a lower cap with higher tiered skill plots should reduce time spent gathering overall. And it is easy enough to still make upkeep (minimum 5 visitors and 1-3 avatars) with less grumbling from clanmates who don't want to do so much work.

There is no extra reward for actually filling cap limit, other than helping out the clan, especially if it is upgrading or adding build orders. Which is why this option may be beneficial to maxed citadel clans.

As I said, it's not for everyone. Just an option to consider if your citadel is maxed, or you're running out of build orders. And/or if your clan members need more incentive to help out, without spending so much time at their citadel.

Every clan will look at this idea concept differently. I just wanted to make people aware of the option.
