Tracking inactives for deranks or kicks is such a pain, if we only had some way to know how long it's been since last login (like so many clan/guilds on other games do) it would make life so much easier for us.
If you agree please give this thread some support:
I have no qualms helping you out, but I'd like to mention that there is a very simple way: Runeclan.
Allow me to explain: Every month you issue a new Skilling contest on the website. It can last as far as I know as long as you want, but for me, I choose 1 month.
Runeclan tracks not solely based on XP gain but also by who logs in for any period of time. (So you'll see people with 0 XP. But they'll be listed.)
Runeclan is occasionally buggy/laggy due to traffic. However it's still very accurate 9/10 times I would warrant.
So say you have a clan of 200 people, over a months time, 80 log in. Meaning you have 120 active inactive.
----
You can also arrange how clan members on the site are displayed, lower levels first, high level first, ranks the same way, and so on. This would also then allow you to spot alts/snuck in lower levels. Furthermore, it would allow you to priority kick based on things such as:
- Lack of overall XP
- Lack of rank or clan influence
- Lack of favorable stats that reflect likeliness of return or increase clans overall average.
Which is what I judge sweeps by.
In conclusion: Not much need for Jagex to do anything, and judging by their last polls, where they pitted clans against big game changes....well....Truly all of RS's leadership can take a hike. Runeclan was made by actual players and is approved by them anyhow.
This has been suggested before, but Mod MattHe has said it cannot happen because it would interfere with account safety and potentially compromise people's accounts. It's basically along the same line of, "Why Jagex won't give us our clanmates' email addresses for contact" - it sounds like a good idea in theory, but it compromises their security.

We do use runeclan to track new recruits and people leaving, but didn't realise we could use it track inactives like that, well impressed. That will certainly do the job for now so, nice one.
I'm not seeing how knowing an account is inactive makes it more vulnerable to attack though. Obviously the account owner wouldn't be aware of it for longer but, the account itself wouldn't be 'easier' to hack as such. It certainly doesn't seem to be an issue in other games.

Thanks so much for the feedback people.
A hacker would be able to give an accurate login record of the account to Jagex when they're trying to falsely recover the account. Jagex would look at how accurate it is, and assume the hacker is the legitimate owner.
