I've got to say, as a veteran player (15 year old account) I am distraught at the lack of people playing Castle Wars, Pest Control and that Barbarian game. What happened?! These games use to be flooded! It was hard to even get in back in my day. Of course this was the day you'd spend hours just trying to get into World 1 and 2 and could sell law runes all day long for 1k.

Efficiency/skilling and pvm happened. Theres a ton more pvm content that people are interested in compared to old days when minigames were big, skilling is a lot easier which motivates more people to go for goals. Xp rates being high as an example or a lot of methods being afk. For example it was hard to motivate yourself/have a desire to do 100% effort of pyramid plunder for 140k xp/h and then today you can do priff thieving for like 400k an hr and its pretty afk.

Minigames are still active, but only during spotlights and its mostly afkers getting thaler for trim reqs. As for pest control specifically, void is useless in rs3(unlike osrs for example) so theres no need for anyone to do it, which is main reason people even did pc back in the day. The yard is foul.

I had fun! I mean, it is a game after all. I wish Jagex would do something to bring the minigames back. :/ Honestly, I've put in time, effort and plenty of years to what is now RS3. I really don't want to do that again. But, I can't exactly enjoy myself on Castle Wars as a level 10 newbie, ya know. :/ I don't know.... I still enjoy the game but there's a lot of aspects I wish I could go back to.
