Demon flash mob insta kill?

I went to a demon flash mob just now and killed the general in a single blow, except I don't know how I did it. I did not have a deathtouch dart and I didn't see anything in my tool belt that could have done that.

Is there any kind of mechanic that can do this outside of deathtouch darts, or maybe there is something about demon flash mobs or slayer 95+ that can do this?

It may have despawned on the moment you attacked. Demon bosses last for one hour after being spawned.

That is not what happened. The skull came up that said it was an instant kill, the same one that comes up with the dragon trinkets. And I got 114k worth of the drops.

Like I said, no deathtouch dart. Felt like a bug almost, except I'm willing to believe I had some mechanic I forgot about.
