How to get a rank?

Our members are ranked based on the amount of waves they've helped with since joining us, and how actively they help with star hunts.

Once a month (usually on the 15th), we look back at the number of waves our members have helped with and add it to each person's total amount. To reach a specific rank, you have to reach thresholds specified in the table at the bottom of this post.

Please note that there is no requirement to get invited to our clan, I.E. get and keep recruit rank. If you wish to get an invite, feel free to ask in the clan chat or PM any of our admin+ ranks.

Keeping your rank?

To keep a rank you achieved you have to continue to actively help with star hunts. Ranks ranging from sergeant to (including) admin need to hunt at least 3 star waves a month.
NOTE: Not hunting the required number of stars each month will result in your star count getting lowered!

What classifies as helping with a wave?

Any of the following: Organise a group hunt, hunt a solo star, or help spot in a group hunt.
In order for us to be able to track how many waves you helped with, you are required to post your solo hunts on our thread. In the case of group hunts, the organiser posts the star.

The amount of waves for each member can be found on the last post of this thread.

Below is a table with required thresholds to reach a rank.

rank ………………………… # of waves ……………………………# requirement to keep rank*
Recruit …………………………none………………………………….Log in more than once a year :P
Corporal …………………………3……………………………………..Log in more than once a year :P
Sergeant…………………………10…………………………………….help with 3 waves a month
Lieutenant………………………20…………………………………….help with 3 waves a month
Captain…………………………. 30…………………………………….help with 3 waves a month
General…………………………. 50…………………………………….help with 3 waves a month
Admin…………………………….70…………………………cap once a week + help with 3 waves a month

*In case someone failes to reach the monthly requirement, stars will be substracted from their total wave count and they will be deranked should the count get too low. You can lose up to 3 stars from your count every month. Also, this means your count can go all the way to 0! Please note that this doesn't apply, if you have a valid reason why you can't hunt or be active. In that case, please tell us, so we can freeze your tally!

How to get access to the clan avatar habitat experience boost

Avatar experience boosts last for a week and need to be activated weekly at the stone near the avatar habitat inside the clan citadel. Each clan member is eligible to receive a 3% experience boost when joining a clan. It is possible to increase this boost by up to 3% (for a total of 6%). This is done by raising your fealty rank, each rank adding 1% to the total. You can can check your fealty rank by pressing the button* next to your name in the clan chat list.

General rules and suggestions

As a shooting star hunting group our main priority is to ensure everyone in the clan chat is having fun. However, in order for everyone to have fun, some general rules have to be followed.

Here are some general rules we suggest that you follow:

1. Be polite and respectful to everyone in the Clan Chat.
2. No obscene or otherwise inappropriate language.
3. No trust trading.
4. Do not attack other miners during Wilderness stars, unless it's a PKer.
5. Follow all of Jagex's rules.
6. Do not report any stars found by our clan to another star finding clan/friends chat. Inviting one or two friends to a star is ok. This doesn't apply to allied clans.

This is not a rule, but please don't hesitate to greet everyone in the chat after entering and before asking if there are any stars around. Also, don't forget to help each other out!

A shooting star...make a wish !

Shooting stars are one of the many Distractions and Diversions, which are found approximately every two hours in every members' world. A Star Sprite is trapped inside of a crashed star and the goal is to free it by mining the star to the bottom.

You can find a shooting star by using a telescope in a Player-Owned House. Use the telescope and it will display a time frame in which the star will land in and a location the star will fall at. If your telescope doesn't display any time or location, but instead your character starts saying weird things, then the star has landed. Search all possible landing spots, because they are fixed, so it is easier to find them!

Please refer to posts 6 and 7 for all the possible landing spots.

The first one to find a shooting star gets a bonus of (75x Mining level) Mining xp. Depending on the size of the star you will also gain Mining experience for mining it (See the table below). As you mine it, you will get stardust, which can be traded for a reward at a Star Sprite once you free it. The maximum amount of stardust you can trade in and have at a time is 200.

The reward for 200 stardusts is as followed:

You can only trade in stardust once per day (resets at midnight forum time).

* 152 cosmic runes

* 52 astral runes

* 50,002 coins

* 20 gold ores (noted)

Also, a temporary mining boost that grants a chance of mining double ores for a few minutes. This bonus stacks with Varrock armour. It is possible to mine more red sandstone than the maximum daily amount with the reward from shooting stars.

This is how much experience you will gain per stardust on a specific star size:

Star Size................Experience per dust
Size 1.............................14 xp
Size 2……………………….25 xp
Size 3……………………….29 xp
Size 4……………………….32 xp
Size 5……………………….47 xp
Size 6............................71 xp
Size 7……………………..114 xp
Size 8…………………….145 xp
Size 9…………………….210 xp
