Glitch: Immunity to Snare

I was fighting a rag today, and I decided to snare them and cast fire blast from a distance.

The rag teleported away, then came back with complete immunity to snare. The snare spell would land, and the exp drop would show it had hit, and the snare animation coiled around him, but he just kept walking towards me. He could not be stopped by snare anymore, and I got messages saying that "the target is currently immune to that spell."


Was this player abusing a glitch, or is there some way to gain snare immunity in this game?
