Been 14 years since i played this game, has anything changed?
Is there a specific world that people go to duel and stake?

While I was away during the update in question, I believe they deliberately removed staking, from any areas of the game where it existed, and they removed the Duel Arena, due to there already being a Duel-Anywhere option available (right click people, there should be an option for it, and if not, there will be an option to turn it on, in one of the game settings), and there being little point in keeping it, with all the risks entailed, once there was no system-supported staking.

They also wished to use the area for some other purpose (I've yet to properly check this out, but I gather it's some form of skilling area).

duel arena was removed as it was considered gambling and there are laws that basically say no more gambling in games
