Recently started the Ports minigame and progressing slowly.

When i was clearing the Hook region it seems i failed the mission to unlock the feral chimeras, and when looking at the map of the Hook region there is one island that has no info (i assume the Chimera straits).

Is there anyway to unlock this island despite failing the mission and moving on to the next region? also would there be an impact on any achievement by not unlocking that island?
