Hellhound or Bunyip?

Out of Hellhounds and Bunyips, which do you think is a better familiar to take to medium-level Slayer tasks to make food less necessary? I have had good results from as Hellhound test but they take more time to make than I like.

I'm on 67 Summoning right now so my own Bunyip testing must wait a bit. I'm not worried about bonus Melee skill training.

Honestly that's hard to decide since one takes damage for u (hellhound) while the other heals u over time (bunyip) seems the hellhound has the downside of u needing scrolls to heal it while u don't for bunyip I suppose it depends on if u wanna waste time/money healing ur hellhound or just getting passive heals from bunyip I'd say bunyip is better personally for medium slayer tasks

I feel like Hellhounds are a bit overkill for mid-level Slayer. Bunyip's passive healing is great (384% of your maximum health over the course of its 48-minute life) and it's waaaaay cheaper and easier to produce (especially if you're not an Ironman; you can buy ~25 Bunyips for the cost of a single Hellhound)

I'm a maxed player and even I still use Bunyips when I need long-term passive healing. They're incredibly good for their low price.

I agree that Hellhounds are functionally overkill for my purpose. I think they can both be fun to field but in different ways. A Pure might dislike Hellhounds but I'm not one.

I'm Iron so I make my own pouches and I'm not interested in relative prices. I can make Bunyips now, by the way.

Fair enough. I'd still argue that Bunyips would be much more convenient for you to make since you only need a single, easily available ingredient to make (instead of needing to dig up Blood of Orcus and Hellfire Metal to make contracts then go out of your way to kill Hellhounds).
