Hello fellow adventurers,

I'm writing today to bring to light an issue that has been on my mind for quite some time now: the buy limits in the Grand Exchange. While designed to protect our in-game economy and to prevent manipulation, I believe that these limits may inadvertently be causing problems that could negatively affect the overall health and dynamism of our beloved game's economy.

The Problem


Buy limits restrict the number of a particular item that a player can purchase within a certain timeframe. While this may initially seem like a sensible measure, it unfortunately leads to several issues:

Market Inefficiency
: The buy limits restrict market efficiency, preventing the free movement of goods based on demand. In a fully efficient market, the price of goods is determined by the meeting of supply and demand. Buy limits restrict this natural flow, leading to potential inefficiencies and artificially limiting demand.

Inaccurate Price Discovery
: Price discovery is hampered by these buy limits. True demand cannot be reflected if players are unable to purchase as much of an item as they desire, which can lead to inaccuracies in the valuation of items.

Inequality Between Buyers and Sellers

Potential Solutions


In light of these issues, I propose that we reconsider the role and implementation of buy limits. Here are a few potential solutions:

Remove or Increase Buy Limits

Add sell limits to balance supply and demand (least effective option)
