I genuinely think the fact the Citadel gets locked if less than 5 people visit before build tick should be removed, or at the least, change it so those who visited the citadel before build tick and also fealty/capped do not get booted out after tick if there was less than 5 visitors (I'd even gladly take the citadel being accessible and gaining resources at a slightly reduced rate until there's enough visitors, just stop booting out people who only want to go in and help :@ )

I make the effort to ask people to visit, and I try to cap every week (this is nothing against those who don't always have the time to visit or cap, it is not something I personally expect from anyone and I wouldn't blame my clanmates for wanting to play as they choose - this is just to reward those who do put in time), so constantly getting punished (Booted out of the citadel) every time we have -5 visitors before tick is getting really annoying to be honest!

Another thing I've noticed - if I have done enough work for fealty the previous tick and then try to visit (and get booted out) I'll still get penalised on the tick after the current one for "not doing enough work (via a fealty drop) even though I was not able to get in to the citadel to do work in the first place!

I even made the same request about four years ago for those who put in the work to not get booted out, kinda ridiculous a good four years it's been well... left as is.

For the record I do love the citadel and the idea behind it, it is really cool to have a personal castle in the sky :)

Its like booting inactive ppl from the game, if you obviously dont care enough to get enough ppl to even enter, then why should it remain open?

It only takes 5 ppl, is it really that hard?

As mentioned, I do make an effort to frequently ask people to visit :) and it's understandable if they do or don't, up to them but it is fair to let those who do put in the time not be booted out.

The whole process of kicking players out of the citadel immediately as they try to enter makes it look like a bug. The first time this happened to me I tried some 10+ times to get inside, and filed numerous bug reports. I have no doubt this has happened to many other players too.

It should certainly be changed for this reason alone. It's a clunky mechanic that resembles a bug.

I mean, even if it was a case of getting resources a bit slower if you capped/visited last tick despite not enough visitors, and had to wait til 5 visitors to continue getting them at the normal rate, I'd gladly take it

as valid as your point is, there's still no defending the fact that

-If you attempt to visit the citadel and are booted out then the next tick comes round, you get a fealty drop for "not doing work" even though you couldn't work in the first place - surely it would make more sense for your fealty to "freeze" if you can't get in, and for it to drop only if you were able to get in to the citadel, but didn't do enough work

-when you can't get in, you can't even view how many people have visited out of 5 in order to know how many more people you need to ask to visit

In the second and third paragraph of my opening post (on the first post of this thread) I don't recall saying anything about me not doing the work, infact I was saying that I had been doing the work :)

Atm we are doing just fine for visitors/upkeep, but this is still a change that would be helpful for citadel members in general :)

Sometimes either other clanmates aren't on at the same time as you, the ones that are aren't currently members or your more active cappers aren't available. In addition to not knowing how many people are left to unlock the citadel, constantly having to ask people to visit in chat can be unpleasant both for members who have to do the running around just to have access to the citadel and likely members who may feel like they're being hounded by the constant reminders.


People who tried but couldn't get in may forget to check again when it's open or be unavailable before the next tick by the time they find out that it is. Since you can't tell who visited and capped unless you saw the messages there's a lot of unnecessary running around that can end up happening even if things get sorted out early into the week.


The lockouts unnecessarily penalize players who put in the work and makes it harder to maintain and increase your active cappers as they're likely to get discouraged and get busy doing other things. The skilling benefits aren't as enticing as they used to be and there isn't much else to motivate players to keep up with it besides citadel upgrades and customizations, which are getting graphically dated. Some kind of citadel update is very much needed.


Losing upgrade progress is also rather frustrating if you have active cappers but aren't numerous enough to meet costs for several ticks and have to keep the visit count up that entire time to avoid having to start over. I can understand requiring a certain number of clan members to participate in upgrading to higher tiers but a small but dedicated group putting in the work over a longer period of time should still be feasible.
