To not in-full rebut the critique, but add to the
Demon Stragglers
event:
There is no honest metric defining the qualification for the reward other than whoever comes into the zone prepared with the highest-leveled gear, hardest-hitting unlocked area-of-effect abilities, and their clearly supreme gear (namely tier-90/92/95).
If...say, I were to utilize a thematically fitting quest-earned item like an "upgraded Darklight" made to deal bonus damage and accuracy against demon-species and demonkind, why is it that I'm stuck just tapping a soft buzzing massage of damage on the Greater Demons, whilst other participants simply sit in the background firing off Tsunami, Sunlight, Magma Tempest--and keep in mind they're firing off with 'conventional' tier-90/92/95 equipment, and I 'finish' the event without rewards because I did not qualify from some arbitrary damage cap most normal players won't achieve in a casual fashion?
Why isn't there a metric for time-involved? When did I enter the zone? Five-minutes early? Did I arrive late, or in the middle of the event? How much damage did I take and/or heal?
Why is it choked off with "DO A LOT OF DAMAGE" which is the easiest thing for equipment and abilities (the power of purchasing beyond the normal ken) to both fulfill and surpass said requirements--and then some more?
So yeah, maybe change it to fall in line with Ankou-type-like quality of enemies. Upgraded-Darklight pecked a pittance of damage despite the legend (let alone the convoluted journey required to obtain its upgraded form
twice-over
!) of it being anti-demon in nature.
This seems like it was supposed to be a simple implement, but easily discounted when you involve the reality that purchasing power will break most mechanics, and/or of most events.
What's a signature? And what are they for?
