I just unlocked it and created it. I thought it was mechanised as in automatic. It's more of a hassle to bring it around than otherwise, to be honest.

First of all, so this thing has to be in your pocket slot all the time? Why would I do that in place of a god book?

And if not, then it has to be in the inventory? There's already so much bloat for these types of items. The point isn't that I need to have a holy wrench, expensive spices, and 5 other passives at all times, the point is that it's already quite stacked.

So what, am I supposed to sacrifice an inventory slot for this item as I'm going to Zuk hm for the first time or something?

And so if not, then this thing doesn't even siphon items if I go to Zuk, go one level past the intended siphon level. Making it just a box to store my siphons in.

It should just be a toolbelt item.

Welcome to RuneScape.

Don't forget your pulse cores, cinder cores, sign of porters, skilling urns, ectoplasmator, demonic skull, shard of Zaros, spring cleaner, teleport crystal, penguin spy device, plus everything else I forgot.

Apparently the strategy in this game is to make sure that we have minimal inventory space.

If you aren't staying put in a Divination gathering location for an excessive long time, you probably won't find mechanized siphons very useful, and perhaps you don't want to bring one.

However, I have one in my bank because it holds both equipment and crystal too siphons. It saves a bank slot for me. It is still pretty cool.
