Logic I’m concerned about here is why hasn’t the mapping between Varrock and Falador. Been expanded since 20 years, I mean we’re making another new skill for 2023, but I think RuneScape 3 is in a tight squeeze somewhat cause of having to think up, where are we going to put the new skilling locations for the new skill?
Falador is like King Farquads castle in the movie Shrek! As the areas has more land to adventure in in order for that to make sense that Shrek and donkey wouldn’t get there on foot but a bike or something.
So why is walking from Varrock’s east side doors all the way to faladors well like 2 minutes when for Shrek it’ll take a whole day to get from the swamp to King Farquad’s castle?
Are we even going to double in size RuneScapes mapping so that we don’t have to worry about cutting out more of the waterbeds suspending outskirts or are we going to push areas closer to eachother or conjoin them again just to give the 2023 skill a place in the game?
“Conjoin” in example, in Ardougne, they made the Farming guild, it took the spot of the farming materials shop that was in RS2 and the wheat field was cutely halved into 2 spaces of not 1 big plot of land, it got animal pens and a planting your garden location with even a house a few npc’s storylines would have so that in the future, quests and such would be why their there
In RS2 though, it was a bit more of a walk to go from anywhere like Varrock used as the example or anywhere else like Lumbridge, Draynor, Al-Kharid, Draynor over to Taverly being in Karamja and walking to brimhaven over to the jungle looks like an appropriately sized landscape that looks like it’ll take some time to get over to, while although walking over to Falador from Varrock is like walking to your next door neighbors house :/
Will the mapping between those to areas even be expanded better? It’s just a wee bit small…

if you read the books. the time it takes to get from falador to barb village is iirc 6 days. that is the actual time it takes to get from a to b. sure for us in game its a lot quicker than that. thankfully

but this is a game so going from one place to another walking isnt going to actually reflect that. that would be a boring game.

the world map is expanding all the time. sure new skill is coming probably come with an expansion. there is plenty of space for new skill and they can expand the map if they want to. they have many times

is this a rant? or a suggestion?

Tenebri, ty for your question, let me say this more of my confusion about knowing how the 2023 skill will fit in the comfortably and be minced together like Smithing and Invention as well as Crafting
I'll be using Varrock from RS2 in my example but without talking about hunter and later skills as well as places like the Cook’s Guild, GE or the Lodestone except for the Champions Guild alone

While Jagex knows that when they add new content, it can't all be together in 1 area, so 27 skills cannot all go together without making the game lag from making only 1 area have eveything trainable, why? a 3D platform game has to have split widely enough areas made for training everything, so when we add combat skills and skills that don't mix with combat what happens? well, Smithing gets Mining involved with it alone comfortably with even that of crafting will have a similar skilling location or within the bank training while standing reliabilities.
like, weaving dragon leather and gems with string into jewelry and ranging gear.
Combat has its ability to get smithing and crafting its money to buy the items needed to go about training content, cause thieving in example is right away pickpocketing coins for use in stores
So magic and range will have their further attack ranges with monsters, once they are killed, the dropped items have their dependabilities, bones, meats, coins, clay, simple leather if not dragon leather.

Now here although is the other skills inclusion:
Invention and Smithing allow for making things within 1 place, so does magic when it needs to be invovled with runecrafting, or superheating ores into bars, high alching items or enchanting arrows for ranged and herblore makes ranging ammo have its poisonous included, more effective added extras
Melee skills and Slayer have a mixed training uses between ranged and magic, as well as afking/duel skilling allows for training crafting, fletching, herblore, firemakingWoodcutting, Smithing, Cooking, Smithing and Mining

as well as hunter, fishing, etc..

While the game handles doing these things together well, my concern is, shouldn't Jagex make Falador's Castle with its knights have more of area fleshed out, like a bigger bridge then what's walked on over to the castle, while a place like the smithing shop, jewelry store, PoH NPC's place and park have just a slight bit of a push away from Falador's bridge so that it doesn't seem like 10 tiles away to walk over to?"
I think it's just Falador's Castle compares with Varrock's Palace a unfairly sized almost evenly in height sort of structure
Doesn't this mean the Falador Castle needs to be a bit more upscaled in order to be appropriately deemed a Castle if not compare evenly with the height of Varrock's Palace
