This concerns the 13th beacon in the All Fired Up! minigame, which requires level 89 Firemaking and is accessed through a ladder located at level 40 of western Wilderness, just north of the Chaos Temple (hut) .



That ladder cannot be climbed up if you are in combat. It did make sense given how the Wilderness used to be - it ensures a player wouldn't be able to use it to escape a PvP situation. I said it did make sense because nowadays we can opt out of PvP, which in turn makes it pretty pointless.

It wouldn't be an issue if not for recent updates. There are now Glacors near the ladder leading to that beacon. As we know, most of the monsters in the Wilderness are aggressive, and to make things worse Glacors have a huge aggro range and there is one that spawns right next to the ladder. You are considered to be 'in combat' as soon as it attacks you, which then makes it impossible to climb the ladder.

I managed to do it by using Dive and spam-clicking the ladder to climb it before the Glacor could attack me. It still aggroed the Glacor, but this way I managed to climb that ladder.

Anyway, I think Jagex should change it so that you cannot climb it while skulled rather than simply being in combat, this way one still wouldn't be able to escape PvP through that shortcut while also being able to access the beacon even under attack from nearby mobs.

Haven't even done these beacons since I got my inferno adze centuries ago, but this does indeed sound crappy.
Support for removing the inability to use it (as well as any other impassable-while-in-combat-barriers, if that is still a thing) while opted-out of PvP.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Honestly, the only reason I bothered to do it yesterday is because it is needed for MQC. Inferno adze is one of the most useless high-level rewards in the game right now, 92 Firemaking for an item which functions as T60 hatchet and T50 pick is useless nowadays since we have much better axes + toolbelt, and it's chance to burn logs is pointless when you have Superheat Form. Which is something I also feel should be looked at, maybe update its stats or add an item which requires it to be created.
