"
But Mom I don't want to go!
" Noah exclaimed even as his mother continued to pack everything that they would need. Gloves, flashlights, lunch, drinks and even a set of glowsticks they'd had lying in the back of the closet. In regards to her son Mrs. White only smiled patiently.
" Noah, it's going to be a fun experience! Besides, your father and I both agreed to chaperone the trip, we can't just leave you at home on your own. "
Outraged, Noah continued to protest.
" I'm ELEVEN, Mom! I can stay home by myself! " Stuffing the last of the necessary items in her pack Mrs. White stood up straight again, turning to look at her son with a riased eyebrow.
" After what happened the LAST time we left you home alone for more than an hour? "
Noah felt his face flush red, but frustration overwhelmed his embarrassment, forcing him onwards.
" I was nine back then Mom, it's been two whole years. Can't you trust me this once? "
Mrs. White sighed, heading into the hall to grab her coat.
" I'll tell you what, Noah. We'll talk about letting you stay home alone when we're back later, okay? For now you're just going to have to bear with us. "
There would be no more arguments, that was the impression Noah got from his mother's tone. The young boy groaned, despair setting in as he reluctantly put on the coat his mother handed him. Outside the car horn honked, indicating his father's impatience.
" Come on you two, we don't want to hold up everyone else! " His father shouted, getting a quick response from his wife.
" We'll be right there, dear! Come on Noah, let's go before your father leaves without us. "
Thirty seconds later they were all in the car, and with a lighthearted word of 'finally' they set off out of town. Noah turned to look out of his window, not wanting to take part in his parents discussion of grouping, and watched as his home vanished into the distance.
Irondanes Cavern... It could be fun, couldn't it? I am Inferi.
