As for me, the chairs were quite a welcome sight. With everyone staring and not talking I moved to a table close to the fireplace and pulled out a chair to sit down, when I did, the missing sound of conversation was replaced by the hushed voices of the visitors. That man which I had followed here sat directly across from me. I tried to ask what his name was but was interrupted by someone of little stature who had a glass mug in his hand, I could only assume this was the Innkeeper. Looking at me while cleaning a glass mug the Innkeeper said "My name is Tennebrie and this is my tavern, where's about are you from?" to which I replied "I'm from Asteria." "Asteria? With the war going on what are you doing up here?" "Well for
now
I'm taking a break, been walking for a week now." "Well alright, alright, I won't pry, but tell me, how are things in Asteria? I haven't heard anything since Thranmir fell." to which I replied "Well you know as much as I do then." "Okay, I'll let you back to it" and he placed the mug on the wooden table in front of me and poured water, then brought a bowl of pottage and I paid him.
"So what's your name" I asked the man which I had followed. "I'm Sverdin." He said, "You know, you shouldn't have been out in this weather, especially with what's been going on here." to which I replied "Why's that then?" and suddenly someone there was a loud bang and someone said with a raised voice "Please, stop, we don't have any more gold!" and a growling voice replied "Well that's too bad, you know what happens when people don't pay...." "I--I'll try my best to get it to you, just please give me time!" "You're out of time."
