Maybe you guys have heard before of monthly writing challenges, in which 30/31 topics are given for each day of the month, about which a piece of writing must be done on that given day.
I'd like to give this a go, and I'd like it to be Runescape themed. So what I'm asking of you now is to set me the topics. Name me one or more Runescape characters, give me a theme, come up with a title – and I should write something (short-story, poem etc.) each day, based on that idea.
However, I think it's necessary to have some conditions on the suggestions:
1. First of all, no stupid ideas that are clearly have not been – and therefore cannot be – taken seriously, please! And obviously, no themes that are not appropriate on a public forum!
2. It's strictly RS NPC characters only, no RS related real-life persons – like Jagex employees, famous players etc., and this includes you too, sorry! So no ideas like "write a story about my character meeting x" or "me defeating y" and so on. If I name the player character in these stories at all, I'd like to stick to talking in general about the character, who will usually just be called 'The Adventurer' and suchlike.
3. Ideas will be written up in the order of posting.
4. Only one idea per person, please.
5. Please think through your suggestion! This is for not messing up the whole thing and to avoid the possibility of "cheating". But if you really have to change your mind after having posted an idea already, then please
strike out
your former suggestion and then write your new one in your post. And as the date of editing can be seen, if the post has been edited after the deadline set in rule no. 3., I will stick to the idea that you have written first, or if your post has been edited, yet there's only one idea to be seen (and no striked out one, or reason for editing given), I'll skip it!

6. As almost two weeks have already passed of this month, this will be a 15-day challenge only, since I don't wish to wait till September to start it. (And for a first try, 15 days might be just enough anyway!
) Therefore ideas will be taken until next Monday (17th Aug, 00.00 UTC) for the first day of the challenge, and in general if all 15 ideas will be submitted by then. If not, then ideas can still be posted for the days after until there's a total 15 of them.
Yes, I know this leaves about 4 days in advance to learn about the ideas, but posting this just before starting didn't seem to be a good idea, I thought it should be given a few days so more people can learn about it, and in case the ideas don't come up that fast, or if there are questions to answer, or in case the suggestions should be moderated because of breaking the rules. But if this bothers you much, then we can agree on posting the ideas on Sunday only, and until then it's just questions and such that should be posted here. I just didn't want anybody to feel left out if Sunday is not good for them to be online etc. But if you feel it's more fair that way, then ideas will be taken between 16th Aug 00.00 UTC - 17th Aug 00.00 UTC (and daily after that for the next days, if there aren't 15 suggestions already). But it's up to you then to keep your ideas to yourselves until then and not to forget to post them when the time comes!
7. I'd strongly suggest reading through the previous ideas before posting your own, just to lessen the chances of reading about the same character or situation about 5-10 times.

8. Please do not suggest anything that's confirmed to be (or most likely is) yet to come in game! So don't ask me to write about what will happen to Sir Owen and the centaurs for example. Let's leave such stuff to be done by Jagex first.
I'd suggest keeping it up to "present game time" (year 169, 5th Age – year 1, 6th Age). And let us try staying as canon as possible, shall we?
I mean "twisted" or "what if" versions are fine, or a funnier approach, or things that are not stated in game, but do not clash with things that are stated etc. The long and short of this, just let's not change basic facts in general, okay? Oh, and canon = what can be found IN GAME and IN OFFICIAL (= written by a JMOD) LORE!
9. Please keep your ideas as reasonable as possible. E. q. if you suggest "Zaros defeats the Elder Gods", that not only breaks the 'yet to come' rule above but is also a suggestion that couldn't really be covered in a short story, but more like in a whole novel.
Please keep in mind that I will have the maximum of 24 hours only for each idea!
10. If a suggestion is not fitting the criteria above, I will comment on what's wrong with it. If it's not changed after that, or if it's already after deadline, I'll just skip it. (I'll drop a note if I did that if it opens up another space of the 15 available.)
But nothing like a few examples, right? I had something like this in mind:
IDEA 1.
Title: Love and other cat-astrophes
NPC: Bob, the cat
IDEA 2.
NPC*: Evil Dave and Doris
Theme: Mothers’ day
IDEA 3.
The Duke’s birthday party after Cook's Assistant. Maybe not everything goes according to plan and you do get invited after all…
IDEA 4.
Update the Varrock Census since it's been out of date for quite a while now.
Theme: Comical, parody
And so on.
(Of course these are just examples and they shall not be used in the challenge itself.)

(This is mainly for my part, but if this happens to grow into something bigger, it might be for others too.)
When the writings are up, feedback is welcomed as long as it's
constructive
and
expressed in a civilized manner
! What I would like to ask of you is to take into consideration that I'm not a native English speaker (you might have already guessed this), which means you might run into grammatical errors or incoherent parts in the writings, for which I apologize in advance. I just want to ask you - mainly the English speaking part of the community here - to be aware of this fact when pointing such mistakes out. Thank you!
Well, that's all I thought up about this so far. Thank you for reading, and for suggesting if you do!
