Joe works as a newspaper delivery man.
He likes his job, but holds a low opinion of the newspaper he works for. He thinks they are sensationalist and have a poor standard of writing. Still, the job pays well and has good benefits, so he tries not to think about it.
One day a man visits the newspaper's office and asks if they have any openings for deliverymen, as he would like to apply. He says he needs the job desperately. The manager tells the man that they don't have an opening right now, but that Joe's been working there for quite a while and that he'll ask him if he's thinking of retiring. In that case, he could get an interview.
The manager goes to Joe and explains the situation. Joe thinks it over for a minute, before going to the man looking for a job and saying:
"Look, I hate being the bearer of bad news, but I'm not quitting this job"
