I killed the mighty Fire Giant and wondered what I would loot from his corpse.
But to my surprise, instead of an Herb, some Runes, or even a battlestaff, I had a chance encounter with a Dragon Spear.

I studied it long and hard, trying to understand what it took to make such a weapon.
The weapon was finely crafted, to be sure. The red metal and sharp point made it look menacing enough.

But as I kept staring at it, I wondered even more.
Why "Dragon"? I mean, it's not like it was especially effective against dragons. It's a 2 handed weapon so I have to use the expensive potions for protection.
Sure, unlike the other "Dragon" weapons that were hidden on other worlds like Zanaris, or hoarded by the Guilds, this was a Dragon weapon I could wield without issue.

But as I looked at the Chaotic Maul I wielded, I doubted if I would ever even use the spear.
Maybe in a "classic" age ... or in a free world (if ever such a thing would exist in our age of monarchies) ... one might have a use for it. But here? Now?

I alched the spear and continued on to the next Fire Giant on my task.

And the Fire Giants became depressed. Once considered menacing and greatly feared by many, they now became a running joke--a laughingstock. The tables had turned. Herded like cattle, they realized they were not as relevant as they once were in the world of Gielinor.

Many warriors came to slaughter them for their sick enjoyment. There was a time the Giants could put up a fight and protect their territory and themselves, but that was far behind them.

Fire Giants used to be sought after for their prized possessions, but now they were nothing but a target for training purposes. Their most valuable items were even considered to be trash by these barbarians. But these mass murders never stopped anyway.

Lights out, one by one. The Fire Giants fell to the mighty sword.

But when one fire was extinguished, another one sparked and came to life.

Another day for the Fire Giants to put up a good fight.
Have a heart. Have a brain. Be You. Be Vegan.
