I have recently thought of a few things that I believe would be a great bonus to Runescape. I have just written a short story of the lore of what I think would be a good thing to add. It involves two new places, a new pet concept, and new items. It is based off of the necromancer items that one can obtain by shade burning. After my story I will say what I would like to see in Runescape’s future. I do not have a name for this short story. I hope you enjoy
Over a hundred years ago, a small sect of the Dagon’hai clan ;ead by a man named Necrol Atry decided to split off and settled in the Piscatoris region. They came to a city which they destroyed and buried, bringing back the inhabitants in a human zombie form, more like the humans they once were, but forced to serve in their death. They devoted their dark magic to necromancy and called their new town Ne’cropolis. Underneath Ne’cropolis still remains the old forgotten town, used for storage of whatever supplies they needed. The sea would bring in new bodies of washed up sailors which they would toy around with until they felt satisfied. They would have suppliers come in from the far east who would bring them pieces of fine cloth, to which they would use to decorate their cloths.

After many years, Ne’cropolis closed itself off to the traders and adventurers. In the recent past, Dr. Necr Obiosis had two children, Rigor and Mortis. The two had heard of a plague in West Ardougne, and wanted to take the corpses to do their bidding along with expanding their territory. The two made their travels towards the town, and herd rumors of the plague being a hoax. Once they arrived they found mourners and the large gate encompassing the town. It was easy for them to kill and control a few of the mourner guards and then enter the city. Once inside, they sought after the graveyard and created a small group of undead servants. Months went by, and only a few of the victims had died. They figured the stories of the plague being a lie where true, and chose to leave the town. Unable to bring an army of the undead and not raise suspicion, they left the followers to roam around freely. The remainders of West Ardougne were able to keep the zombies at the cemetery.

Rigor and Mortis decided that they would split up and bring back some undead followers to Ne’Cropolis. Rigor decided to travel east where the fine cloth had come from. She had heard rumors of the deadly shades and thought it would not only be beneficial to have a group of them, but they could gather more of the rare fine cloth. On arrival she found an abundant amount of loar shades, but had no clue on how to get into the catacombs. She stumbled upon an adventurer who was taking shade remains of different colors and burning them. The adventurer told her he was burning the corpses to gain keys that would allow access into the catacombs, where tougher shades and treasures could be found. She then ask for one of each remain so that she could study them closely. After receiving a set of remains, she then cast a spell on them and brought forth the shades back from their death. They were a bit unruly, but found that to gain their respect; she had to burn a shade of the respective type. She offered the adventurer a shade follower, as lnog as he could show it that he was capable of command.

Miles away in a warmer, sunnier claimant; Mortis was testing his skills in the desert sands. He knew that many had died in the heat and decided it was full of opportunity. Just north east of Nardah on the ocean edge, he found what seemed to be a massive grave of fallen soldiers of the past. He brought up the men and woman, and soon found them fighting each other once again. This was amusing to Mortis so he began an arena where the zombies would continue to fight forever. One day an adventurer came along and was both fascinated and repulsed at his findings. He offered the adventurer a zombie companion in return for a little publicity. The adventurer went into several town and told the locals of the most bizarre fighting den they would every see. Several decided to go and watch as the gladiators of old fight to the undeath.
Back in Ne’cropolis the locals received shipments of the new corpses from adventurers who have shown themselves dedicated to necromancy, and experimented on their abilities. The new servants were amusing, became pet like to the people. The town had the newly acquired corpses patrol the area, work the fishing ships, and carry around items.

I was thinking that this could end up as a low requirement quest, or maybe a miniquest, that would result in new items and several new “pets*.
What I am getting at, is a new town just west of the Eagle Peak, that would have an underground village that has been seemingly lost. Ne’cropolis would have the necromancers whilst the undead worked underground and at shore. My vision of the old towns people was not completely zombielike, but more like a person who has recently died and then was brought back. They would have things such as scars and gaping wounds, but functional like a normal person. What I was thinking for the desert area, would be a walled off piece of land and resemble a fighting arena. There would be zombie warriors at constant battle, and instead of dying they simply drop to the ground for a few seconds, then rise back up. There would be two main teams that would fight each other.
NPC characters would include: Rigor and Mortis, Dr. Necr Obiosis, three friends named pre post and mortem, undead villagers, Necrol Atry, and basic zombies.

Items would include: Necromancer Gloves, book or Necro, Necromancer Cape, Necromancer Shoes, and a Necro-pendant which would resemble a Crystal Pendant.
The gloves would look like culinaromancer’s gloves 10 with respective blue and gold coloring, the book would have a big skull on it that can be held as if a god book, The cape would depict * giant skull like a Necromancer Robe Top, the shoes would be like black boots, only blue with gold trim, and the pendant would be a quest item received from either Rigor or Mortis, who would be the quest starters. The hat would be an upgraded version of the Necromancer Hood, and would take a necromancer kit, a shade skull, and 5 fine cloth. It would then turn out to look like a Dagon’hai hat but blue, and a shade skull protruding from the front.
Character description:
Rigor – a young woman who is very curious about the undead and their abilities. She wears the general necromancer equipment minus the hood, and carries a necromancer steam staff and walks around the pyre locations in Mort’ton.

The quest would be set up with two possible start points, either from Rigor or Mortis. They would give the player a Necro-pendant and give them a mysterious crate. Then either Rigor or Mortis would ask the player to see their sibling to get another load to take back to Ne”cropolis. The player could use the pendant to teleport to the town, and then talk to the father of two (the Dr.) He would then experiment with the bodies and find shades to be unreactive to his commands, and the mummy soldiers to be fighting one another. The player would then have to return and help Rigor get one of each shade and burn a loar shade to show her how to control it, the player would also need to go to Mortis and study the behaviors of the mummy soldiers. After this, the player would return to Dr. Necr Obiosis and claim a reward of more necromancer knowledge(magic xp and Book of Necro). The player could then trade in some fine cloth for the Necromancer Shoes, Necromancer cape, Necromancer gloves. Along with that, the player could return to Rigor and Mortis and receive an undead follower from them. From Rigor you would receive a shade, such as “Following Fiyr”, and Mortis would give you a “Mummy Follower” which would be either red or blue wrappings, and male or female.
