Her name was Catherine Augustine Talbrooke.

Bright, beautiful, brilliant and brave, Catherine Augustine Talbrooke was a paragon of Jaderton High with a heart larger than her list of achievements. Everyone was worth her time, from the best of friends to the troubled strangers - she was the bright star with shining dreams and the potential to reach them.

One morning she didn't come to school.

Was she sick? Was she on vacation? Was she cutting class? Curious questions were scattered amidst the crowds of Jaderton High as her absence was noticed. After all, Catherine Augustine Talbrooke never missed a day of school.

That morning you knew.

That afternoon the police came to school.

That evening everyone knew.

Catherine Augustine Talbrooke was dead.

Local news leaked what the police had found that very same evening - pieces of a teenage girl's body was found in the woods.

Pieces .

The community was devastated. Answers were demanded, hearts were broken, fury had no outlet. An entire town grieved for the loss of Catherine Augustine Talbrooke. One day, their grief would pass - and one day, they would forget the shining star who all had loved.

You, however, would not forget. You, however, would not let your grief pass.

You knew who did it.

You knew what did it.

Her name was Catherine Augustine Talbrooke to all.

But to you, her name was Cat. She was your friend.

And you're going to kill the monster that took her away. I am Inferi.

~SETTING~

You are a high-school student from the small town of Hudson Vale, a place unworthy of notice and barely caught up to modern day 2020. It has all the old venues you can think of - and almost all of them are in the late stages of shutting down, if not shut down already. Hudson Vale is a town where everyone knows their neighbours and reputations are not easily forgotten.

Yesterday your friend was found dead in the forest - in pieces. You know what killed her. How? You saw it, you heard it - the thing in the forest. You were there with Cat, just a small handful of you, during that party in the woods. You saw something. Saw it watching you. Saw its teeth bared in a horrific grin. Heard the spine-chilling whisper float into your small clearing, and your friend freeze up in terror you've never seen from her before when it whispered her name.

Its long face, white eyes and dazzlingly inhuman grin vanished into the night with a deep, unsettling giggle.

Three days later, Cat was dead. She confided in all of you - she heard it whispering to her when she was at home. It wanted her to enter the woods. Who could you tell? Nobody would believe you. Nobody did believe you. You planned to stay with her, make sure she was never alone. But you were too late.

An agreement was made. You were going to kill that monster. I am Inferi.

Catherine Augustine Talbrooke - Cat - was a junior at Jaderton High. 17 years old and settled in 3A's homeroom. She was smart, athletic, beautiful and full of compassion - she was a free-spirit to many, meandering in and out of different club rooms and taking part in their activities at her whim. Yet few ever minded, for she was always a breath of fresh air and brightened each room she entered. It also helped that she took the activities seriously, and did her best not to be a disruption.

Headstrong and brave, Cat didn't seem to fear anything. Often an explorer of abandoned places and the deep reaches of the forest, she knew all of the good spots to hang out. She could always see when another was hurting, and would somehow always know just what to say to make them feel better - and even in the end to overcome their troubles. Her diligence and compassion carried with it an amazing sense of humour and an incessant need to tease her friends, relishing in the embarrassment she would bring them yet being near-impossible to embarass herself. Her energy was boundless and infectious.

Shoulder-length, wavy dark auburn hair with a fringe that framed her face, tied back into a ponytail when performing athletics. Bright blue eyes that shined like the sky, glimmering with mischief and overflowing with emotion. Lightly tanned skin with pretty freckles dotting her cheeks, a slim but athletic physique and a clothing style that seemed to vary each week.

Cat was one of a kind. You'll never forget her. I am Inferi.
