Rpers, It has become apparent that there are a few different interpretations of the situations Our characters face. While most of it has been assumed correctly, A few posts are inconsistent with the lore document I made to reference back to while writing this RP.

So why do I even care about this? It's a good question, everyone has their own interpretation of the events unfolding. This is what happens when multiple people write a story without a 32 page lore document to go back to. Azi believes that ghouls exist in Sudovia, when in fact I didn't even have any lore for ghouls in a 32 page lore document, to give an example.

I care because it means I haven't explained the situation correctly, or certain details were missed. So which race actually fares best in Sudovia, besides vampires? If you take the time to read this, I will explain.

Humans

Humans have fared terribly under vampire rule, 75% of the humans of Sudovia are kept deep in the caverns underneath Castle Gern. Though even they have fared better than the orcs, whom nobody seems to respect. The humans that are free are generally able to eat by fishing in lakes, hunting, and by bartering for food. They are able to drink from these same locations. They aren't all as weak as Inferi is suggesting. Their resistance is however supplied by equipment from shady dealers, usually drugal merchants who sell them shoddy equipment, Or Lethornian merchants who care more about profit than protecting the people keeping the vampires from invading Lethornia through via it's eastern border.

The resistance is well-funded, by money caches hidden by Lethornian spies. It's not a strength issue, its a supplier issue. It would not be easy to find new suppliers due to Sudovia's isolation from the outside world. Balvorrik, the city of the dwarves would be the closest actual settlement not affected by the violence in Sudovia. It is fairly close to Sudovia's western border in the Esun Desert. No matter how hard the vampires try, they'd never be able to penetrate Balvorrik's defences high on a desert plateau that rises 750 feet in the air.

Balvorrik however has closed it's doors to all outsider, for even longer than the vampire occupation, though.

Elves:
Elves fare slightly worse than humans in that they are nomadic wandering clans. Their one city is a former Sudovian fort. At any time a vampire could sneak into their camp and feed on one of them. Even then for an Elf it is slightly easier for them to find quality equipment, as the Drugal and the Elves have had trade relations for centuries, and the drugal sell them the best stuff for less.

Some of this stuff goes to the human resistance, but not much. The elves, look out for themselves before others, it is not a trait that elf culture has possessed for long, but necessity demands it.

Dwarves: There aren't many dwarves left in Sudovia, Once upon a time, there were many dwarves in Sudovia, most of them either died in the original incursions or they retreated back to Balvorrik to escape. The Dwarf army that went into Sudovia to meet up with King Mathias ended up dying on their way home. A few dwarf smiths stayed to fashion arms for the resistance, but that's about it.

Drow: Drow arguably fared the best, since they allied with the vampires for many reasons. Among which was a petty desire to acquire as much power as possible, and because their natural abilities are further enhanced by vampirism. In exchange for these gifts, the drow served the vampires as their legions in corralling the humans and the other races into Castle Gern. They burned human villages, they layed large settlements under siege, they betrayed their wood elf cousins. When all was done, the drow were simply left alone.

Drugal: Besides the Drow, The Drugal have fared well, too. Being high off the ground in a fleet of flying ships with advanced technology is very advantageous. To keep the vampires at bay, the Drugal flew at an altitude that makes vampires very very exhausted if they were ever to fly up there. Drugal are also neutral in all conflicts, but that hasn't stopped individual drugal from fighting vampires as well.

Orcs: Between humans and the orcs, Orcs have it particularly bad. Nobody wants anything to do with a bunch blood-thirsty orcs. The reason is that the original generation of orcs attacked both vampires, and resistance fighters in a crazed state when they were released from their stasis tanks, giving them the eternal reputation of being crazed loonies. That hasn't stopped orcs from joining the resistance, the only people who accept them for themselves.

Orcs have to live off the land, hide from humans, elves, drow, drugal. An orc settlement being attacked is likely to evoke sickening laughter, and high-fives, not horror.
