Introduction

Ever since I started playing OSRS
, when researching all the content it had, the twisted bow was something that struck me in particular (in addition to the max cape of course). Though its power appears to be quite immense, its price has been pretty insane as well, and so it's only now that I've gathered pretty much all the other equipment that I deem worth the money prior to a twisted bow, that I'm seeking to get this legendary bow next. > )

There are two ways I'm planning to get myself the bow:

1. The money route
2. The raiding route

More information about the two routes on their respective posts below.

EDIT: Twisted bow has been acquired - see the post 1 on page 5!

The money route

This is the initial, and probably the more likely way of getting the bow: accumulating enough money to buy it from another player. As it stands, if I sold everything I have, I would be somewhat close to getting the bow, but even if I was already able to get it that way, I wouldn't want to do it in such an extreme fashion. Instead, as of reaching 93 slayer and unlocking all the bosses in OSRS, I'm going to focus on boss slayer to take the slower but more profitable way to get 99 slayer, as well as Vorkath/Zulrah farming semi-frequently on the side.

As such, the initial updates to this thread will be:

1. Completed boss tasks(*) and their special loot (if any).
2. Special drops from Vorkath/Zulrah farming.

* = (both actual boss tasks and choice tasks)

If I'm getting close to the money required to buy the bow, I might sell some of my less important gear to get the bow sooner, but otherwise, if I fail to get the bow by the time I get the max cape, then I'll switch to the raiding route instead.

The raiding route

In case I happen to max before getting the bow, I'll instead aim to get the bow like any ironman: earning it myself from the chambers of Xeric. The chambers can be solo'd, and I have all the gear required for efficient solo raids (except the bow itself of course, but it's not necessary), so I'll look to learn to solo it and earn it myself, if it comes to it. Since this is only done if I max without the bow, I'll still also be doing Vorkath/Zulrah on the side for money.

If I have to switch to this route, the updates to this thread will change to:

1. Completed raids and their loot.
2. Special drops from Vorkath/Zulrah farming.

As with the money route, if I happen to get close to the bow by simply buying it, I might instead sell some of my less important gear to finish this phase faster.

List of slayer bosses

These are the bosses I currently do for slayer tasks when able (in alphabetical order):

1. Barrows(*)
2. Cerberus
3. Giant mole(*)
4. Grotesque guardians
5. King black dragon(*/**)
6. Kraken
7. Skotizo(*)
8. Vorkath
9. Wilderness bosses(***)
10. Zulrah(*)

* = (extremely rare)
** = (actual task only)
*** = (excluding Venenatis and Scorpia)

The list may change over time, e.g. I might stop doing certain bosses after getting the pet, or game updates could influence me to start doing bosses I currently don't do.

Starting off with the post-93 slayer updates that I would've already posted.

2 Kraken tasks completed
+206 kills in total
+1 Jar of dirt
+1 Kraken tentacle
+1 Trident of the seas

2 Thermy tasks completed
+370 kills in total
+3 Smoke battlestaves

Rare drop from Zulrah
+1 Magic fang

There would be too many images to upload for all these combined, but the
individual updates from here on out will also have the respective drop images.

You may now post! > )

Woot first post!!!

Oo, so this is the most expensive item in Old School? Good luck :)

Cheerio! But no, twisted bow has lost the title of being the most expensive item in OSRS since the launch of Theater of Blood. Scythe of Vitur is now the most expensive (at over max cash, IIRC it's around 4b), but twisted bow is much cheaper and much more useful than the scythe in general (and the scythe is also much more expensive to use, ironically for it being a melee weapon).
