The Road To Sustainable Membership

Hello! My brother and I are 20 something adults living and teaching English in China. We had the unfortunate nostalgic urge to play RS and have logged into our accounts for the first time in years. We thought it would be a good idea to share our experience coming back for the reason that RS doesn't except payment by Chinese debit cards (unionpay). So, to sustain our membership, we gonna have to earn it!

That equals out to roughly 2 mil a day. We're not sure if this is possible or not but we're going to try until we get bored and go back to League.

Here's a little bit about our accounts that we'll be playing:

Mrcruel - 112 combat. Main stats: 96 range, 79 defence, 68 summoning, 84 magic, neglectable melee, 71 prayer, 78 slayer and 1654 total!

SophisBlue - 90 combat. Main stats: 77 range, 75 magic, 71 strength, 73 slayer, and 1189 total!

Our first ideas, after we buy our bonds, are to jump into slayer. Sophis made a good amount of money doing fungal mages before we quit and he's going to that. I don't know yet what I'll do precisely. I want to research some of the mining and smithing rework that took place while we were gone to see if there is any money making potential there. I used to kill Avansies a lot but I expect that method is obsolete with the smithing bar drops being changed. Wish us luck!

Welcome back! I hope you enjoy it, and things go well. : )

There may be better Slayer monsters, at that level, gp-wise (indeed, just doing Slayer Tasks will let you experience a good range of monsters, to find one that works well, at the moment. It'll also get the lvl up faster, meaning you get access to ever more profitable, and fun monsters).

*failing to resist the urge to make a joke about it being handy to be 20 different people, and wondering if you're 10, each, or if one of you is more.*

I really hope you have a good time, back on RS3, and it engrosses you, once more. Keep checking your thread, as I'm sure there will be folk who come by with good tips. : )

Day One Done!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, I honestly didn't expect the players here to be so cool. I've got memories of when I was 14 and playing this game and they don't match up to this, haha.

As for what we got up to during our first day back, Sophis looked up some info about Fungal Mages and saw that they make 2.7m an hour. So all that worrying that this was going to be a hard goal to hit for nothing! We made about 3m each yesterday in about an hours worth of time. I also did a couple extra slayer tasks and saw my mage go up to 85 before I logged off for the day.

Today's plan is to look more into the mining/smithing rework, it'd be really nice to have a afk way to make some money. I also need to get mining up to 75 (it's at 70 now) for the Elven place. I want to research some ways to make money with ranging, because I want to get that to 99. I know Aviansies and Armadyl, but I didn't have a great experience at Armadyl. I think my defense just isn't high enough to tank for more than 5 kills. I might go back to Fungal Mages again today because it's such a pleasant method. Cheers!
